In the novel I read, A valiant Life, they mixed expensive wine with sprite. Have someone tried mixing soda with wine? If so, does it taste good?

Well sure. I have mixed vodka together with soda. But wine taste different than vodka...

 

Try Long Island Tea, it taste good but you'll end drunk pretty fast

 

I can’t imagine doing it with red wine but there is plenty of different wines out there so I don’t see why not.

Yes, if you mean carbonated water the germans have a word for it
Schorle.
But not every wine is good for it most sweet or dry a extra dry wine is in my opinion not suitable for it.

I just said that they used expensive wine in the novel. Afterwards, I just asked about wine -- and wine, whenever cheap or expensive. But i get why you thought that.

a cup of pineapple wine + cup mango juice + cup of carbonated water
or any fruit wine + another fruit juice + carbonated water is good AF... tabun*

Adding soda, seems to be cheapest way to make sparkling water according to
