Yep, the Chinese government just went down hard on Qidian. The host site's “Urban” channel “Science Superpower” and the “N-Dimensional” section of the “Girls Network” channel have been hit with a suspension order that will last for 7 days from the beginning of May 21st to May 28th. During the suspension, the site's administrators are supposed to look through their library and remove novels that offend morals or something like that.

And without the source, the English translations will have to stop.

I know there are sites out there hosting the same stories from Qidian, but they are getting the chapters from Qidian. Once the original stories have been removed, the other sites won't be getting new chapters.

According to the demands of the relevant department, erotic novels will be removed. Stories with the religion and politics will also have to be removed. Even if it's about politics in ancient China. A friend of mine in China said that western fantasy stories like Release That Witch might be removed as well as it contains"religion" in the form of "churches".

One Qidian author said novels with fighting in them are also not allowed. If that's true, then after the suspension period, ALL xianxia/xiuzhen novels will disappear from the site.

Besides Qidian, another site called JinJiang has also been hit by the crackdown. JinJiang hosts a lot of homoerotic novels. So fans of BL and Yuri...

Dude. If the original novels get removed from Qidian, that means the authors won't be able to come up with new chapters. And since it's the Chinese government doing the crackdown, it wouldn't help even if these authors move to a new host site.

And like I said, once the source is removed, there will be no more fan translations.

Unless we are talking about completed novels. But the ones still in progress will be affected.

Damn.... Now that is not very good
Why does the Chinese government keeps on banning one thing after another?

Even in my country sometimes the government bans a few movies or paperback books, but banning electronic media really takes the cake for people like me who read there

    Lol
I don't know that but your comment made my day

Racism is part of their education curriculum. Violence is naughty but it's alright to talk shit about other countries. Right now in China, they are screening anti-American war films nation wide.

If they have cracked down on qidian..... Will it also affect other sites as well where original transmigration/rebirth/second chance novels are updated? (Am asking about originals and not translations)

It's a fucking shame about Cultivation Chat Group... If the ban on fighting novels is true, then CCG will also be removed. And it has a "transgender" character, so... It also has homoerotic jokes... I hope it doesn't get removed. Seriously. CCG is a gem.

Jesus, so if most of them did get removed.. that's pretty much a lot of the majority CN being read.

So, will NU become the place where we were nostalgia when we used to read CN novels?
