That was a great break down! I wasn’t really expecting this kind of response when I wrote that I wish there was more drama. I would relate it to shipping certain characters. Just because I want something to occur doesn’t mean it should. Nonetheless it was a great break down I just wasn’t expecting a serious response to my not serious statement
He don't get completely abanoned, they don't prolongate the contract because they aren't able do put him to use.
His skills were deteriorating. He had initially planned to retire after Season 10 iirc, but Excellent Era forced him to retire earlier. Plus his activities in the game for the year he was off took a great toll on him.
Um I know this is sort of unrelated, but does anyone here know how far the anime has gone in terms of chapters? I heard that season two of TKA came out during the spring this year and was just wondering. I'm too lazy to search it up myself
As for season 1, it ended around 250s? The anime omitted a lot and changed some parts so it’s different from the novel. Season 2 isn’t out yet, it was the OVA that came out. Which was from around chapters 301-330.

Yes, it gets to be exhausting if you try to compare the two. Here's a few more: * Chen Guo is annoying. * Less focus on in-game hijinxs. * Introduction of characters are bit different. * I liked Ye Xiu's return in the novel better. * Su Muqiu's influence is shown far more in the drama. * No smoking in the drama. In general, the novel seems to make the characters out to be far more mature in comparison to the drama.
+1 Though it can't helped, drama is...well... drama after all. Chen Guo changed from lovable idiot to annoying idiot for more drama. Only Steamed bun is same as ever, eventhough background is more bit different
