Hmm... Researching it tells me semaphoric siblings Would need more context to know what they’re actually doing though.
So MC and the kids made a promise, that they shouldn't let ML find out about MC coming to meet them. But in this chapter the ML found out, and the kids are crying, thinking MC won't come again. Then after the MC and ML talk, the kids that are still clinging to MC thought they are fighting, and they told the MC they shouldn't fight, and those sentences popped up
I'm not too sure about the appearance.. The novel never said anything about the kids appearance and for that to suddenly pop up is a little.. I'm thinking of the kids giving sign to each other, does it makes sense though ww
Perhaps the author wants to imply that there are three children on clinging at the MC? I don't think 信号機 could be a typo for something...
To me, it's either saying they did it in sync, or it means a bunch of kids acting like they're in a circus, or a ragtag group of kids. Anything after that helps contextualize?
The kids are not mentioned anymore after this actually... The next paragraph is MC inner monologue and his interaction with other character: 「…… Then continues with MC inner feelings and another character conversation.
I'm thinking ragtag or mismatched is the most likely thing here, like different light colors. But ya, it's hard to say for certain.
Perhaps it's referring to how they changed their mood quickly and completely from one to another like traffic light signals? Like the text said afterwards... "...they turned their head sideways and looked up with a cute expression on their face, as if they had forgotten that they were crying (just moments) before..." Maybe? @@
At first I was thorn between narrator emphasising some colors associated with them or trying to express some feelings as dhRPgamer said. But I found this part of a novel. If you read a little further there are descriptions like 信号機色の瞳の色をした3兄妹 and 信号機みたいな目の色. So it's about them having eyes of three different colors
Ohhh, I think it's this one! Thank you very much! It's pretty hard to make sure since that one has "色" and "みたいな" attached after the traffic light, but I will check the next chapter to find out if they are saying something about the traffic light again!
I'm actually leaning more on what @Ergoran had said though. XD When I posted previously I wasn't aware of the context in which the author had used traffic light to describe the siblings.
