    Cuz the reason their father set the carriage on fire was to make MC use her powers to survive. He was suspicious that not only is MC conscious of her abilities, but might even be more powerful than the other sister. And since the other sister didn't want MC to show her full strength, get their father's greedy support & take her place, she tipped the knights to rescue her before she(MC) could/have to use any powers.

    He's prob expecting her to be the puppet she's always been.
    He's expecting her to crave affection and to be too scared to be without it once she has had a taste of affection.

    The Mc told her to keep it a secret or she will have to take her place .
    She didn't believe it at first but when the dad thought MC had powers he was already giving her best dress to Mc ande scolding her for being mean to her sister .so the sis wanted MC to go away.

    The father set it on fire to scare Mc to use her powers to put it out .There was a bunch of guys hidden watching so the sister knew she had to help MC hide it or she would have to switch with MC.

    Like I said she didn't know who he was but she was in a hurry to help Mc only to help herself .She thought Mc would put the fire out with her powers and reveal herself as the true darkness saint. She wants Mc to go away.
    The irony was Mc was planning to die then use her powers since her dad would never let her go.
    She didn't say her family did it but it was rather obvious .
    They caught the guys afterall.

    I know ,I had the same problem for months .
    You have to log in once on your phone on the app.

    you can read a couple chapters right away and 1 ch free the next day of each story you want to read .
    So I am reading like a 1 ch a day of 20 books once a day so it gets confusing.
    It ask you if you want to pay like a dime a chapter or buy it at once but it only takes korean money.

    The father wanted to test her strength because MC already use it a couple times .
    The duchess told keep it a secret or I can't adopt you which led to this farce.:blobpeek:

    She has no conscience as far as I know . If she knew Mc wouldn't have use her powers she would have let her burn.

    no, the korean one not even finished as far as I know.

    That because he had to stuffer this face :blobexpressionless: his whole time there . He was losing confidence in his cooking.
    When our Mc eats her face is so happy :blobsmilehappyeyes:

    Yup, he's the dad :blobjoy: The younger brother is the long red headed guy that came to their (the Duchess's) home with that grey haired boy that the mc met before at the church

    I like it that this time it's a mother who gets to play the badass parent part. It's not like that I've something against the "my- father- will- crush- you" genre, though (I think my avatar is evidencing enough).

    Does someone yet know who the grey-haired boy is?

    If you mean the boy with ash-gray colored hair in chapter 4 (webtoon), he's the male lead.
    His name is Conrad (full name: 콘라드 아페 아이테라 Conrad Afé Aiterra - not sure if that's the correct translation/eng spelling name, but it sounds like that), first born of the Aiterra Grand Duke & is a friend of the second son of MC's new family.:blobReach:

    I read some chapters of the novel before the webtoon came out. It was heavily hinting that he's the ML.
