Therefore, Ai-chan's words on the matter would be shallow since the last time Ai-chan was in the translating scene was 3-5 years ago. Therefore, Ai-chan wanted to try this with one title and get actual hard facts that Ai-chan can verify myself. But it seems like free wordpress doesn't exist anymore. Like hell Ai-chan would pay for their crappy and overpriced premium options. So is it true that you can't start a free wordpress blog anymore? Or is there someone offering 'free hosting with no strings attached'? Ai-chan could pay for hosting, but this is just an academic experiment and Ai-chan doesn't want to be stuck with paying for 2-3 years' worth of hosting when Ai-chan's not going to use it for that long. BTW, Ai-chan is planning on translating a series of Malay novels by the title of Bercakap Dengan Jin (Talking With Jinns). Apparently it is the biggest serial novel in the world. The genre is Islamic Mysticism and Horror.
A combination of both. In Malay mythology, there are good djinns, and bad djinns, good ghosts and bad ghosts as well as good spirits and bad spirits. Although Ai-chan said Islamic Mysticism, Malay itself has plenty of native Mysticism, which is reflected in this story. After all, before Malays became Muslims, they were first Hindu and before that, they practiced animism. To create a website, you need a host. Websites don't magically appear.
Right...you can host if off the space that you get as part of your internet contract? I haven't done this in ages, but I would hope that is still the case? Check with your internet provider. They used to give so many gb's to host your own stuff or just for storage? Also, I'm sure aichan was joking about the 'magically appears'. Everyone knows that magic is not real and she would not be making fun out of someone's good intentions.
No, my internet contract doesn't include any internet storage. My internet contract is entirely internet, phone and tv channel only. Ai-chan doesn't think such deal was ever offered here. Could be different in other countries, but never here. Not even in the days of dial up.
so your contract doesn't give you options of various emails and enough space to host a site? Maybe look for a site that does. You can do whatever you like then and host it yourself.
I follow at least one blog still hosted on LiveJournal, no idea if the blogger(/s) pay for it though.

where do you want to host on your own domain or WordPress subdomain?? If you are hosting on WordPress subdomain than its free no need to pay for anything whereas if it's your domain then you'll have to pay for hosting fee as well as your domain name fee according to your requirements. tell me which one you want to use I'll help you out with either of them

Just use an old laptop, make it your server. Since you want to use it for novel translation, you don't need huge storage.
Ai-chan just wants to use the free one. But there is no more an option to get the subdomain. Ai-chan suppose existing blogs can continue to run, but there is no option to make a new one. wordpress.com shows the lowest one is $3 per month. Thanks dude, but Ai-chan considers backend a pain in the butthole and would rather purchase a Shinjiru hosting than to do the backend myself.

Doesn't those web hosting companies charge a lot for data? It'll be far cheaper to just purchase a domain name and use your old laptop, since you're already paying for internet. This is assuming that your internet access at home is unlimited.
