Code Geass was the anime that made me an Otaku and since then I've been watching Animes and collecting DVDs.blobmelt_thumbs

Was wondering if there's a fan here who was a victim of *Is lelouch dead or alive* debate before this movie came out. :blobnom:.

I thought he was alive because the local anime channel on T.V. had the deleted scene dubbed in my native language, and had that belief for a good couple of years until I decided to revisit the anime.

The DVD release had the deleted scene showing him alive. The director cut it from the airing version to leave it as a more what if and allow the fans to decide if I remember

(couldn't be bothered to find a better quality one)

Edit:some YouTube comments saying its fake so well who knows <.<

PLEASE LET HIM STAY DEAD, LET THE POOR MAN REST ALREADY.

I got way shocked when I heard the studio decided to bring back dead people and sincerely hope they stay dead.

There was no way he was alive. It'd be such a cop-out.
The cart driver was also just such a stretch.

Movie came out though... so welp guess we argued for no reason.

The director confirmed that Lelouch died in the TV series, but they decided to make an "alternate timeline" where he and Shirley are alive. The movie that was released in the recent years is a bit different to the series and is this "alternate timeline" where they survive. I would recommend watching them if you want to watch the new movie.

Yes I heard of the reason behind it. They initially planned Lelouch and Shirley dead but due to the fans love for the Anime, they ressurrected him. But also because of this, they thought of continuing the franchise back again :blobxd::blobxd::blobxd:

So there'll gonna be more to expect from Code Geass, but the storyline might be vastly different and would focus more on Geass users. blobmelt_thumbs

They wanted Shirley dead for the movie too but due to the hour limit of the movie, they couldn't include the Mao arc so they needed to revive Shirley~

watched the Resurreciton movie and loved it.

I love Code Geass so much, its one of the few animes I actually rewatch multiple times. My only peeve with the show is the last arc of R2...

The new Code Geass anime is set in alternate universe, because some events were altered, for example... Shirley's death and others. Thus, for me, I conclude both Lelouchs are alive, with the original duology Lelouch absorbs Charles Code, while the new Lelouch from this upcoming also absorbs the Code except the directors make it obvious unlike the Season 2 end credits.

So yeah, both Lelouch are alive for me! No paradoxes or plotholes! Hahahahaha!

ALL HAIL EMPEROR LELOUCH! OBEY HIM, WORLD!

i prefer his death. it made sense from a narrative standpoint; lelouch knows he'd done a lot of questionable acts and deserved a punishment, it was his way of seeking salvation and bringing peace to the land. the ending was brilliant, and rebooting such a good ending for cash-grabbing mindless sequels is an insult to it.

well, the movie's going to come to where i live soon, i hope it does the franchise justice.

Death would be the easy way out anyway. Staying a hidden guardian like Suzaku works more of a punishment.

I just finished watching the movies (rrly late I know :p) and i haven't really decided which one to like more. One side of me says duh the original has much more well thought out plot and is so much better in terms of characters and the such, but the other fangirl side just wants lelouch to always stay alive and dominate the world MWAHAHAHA ...... yeah.

So I guess the movies with the alternate universe is more like every fanboy/girl's very satisfying fanfiction where we can rewatch again and again to our hearts content *-*
