the novel I’m looking for starts with the mc living and surviving in the woods with his fat best friend and they have to survive in a crappy environment. They end up leaving and the mc becomes super strong and has like a lightning sword at one point and the fatty can control fire element. I don’t really remember much else.

I don't think it's. The mc in this novel is the fatty. He wants a mc with a fatty friend...... Can you give more details there a ton of mc with a fatty friend and with lightning swords. So without more details it is difficult to help you.
@Solracmar He comes to this town and he becomes the disciple of an old guy and then the town gets invaded by these people who can manipulate blood and the old man who took him in gets killed by the invaders and he becomes friends with this girl who is from a prestigious family who doesn’t like him at the start but ends up falling for him
