no, he didn't kill them. well...it was never really confirmed. the author just writes that they died from accidents or from illnesses. Spoiler having read the novel several times, i firmly believe that ml didn't kill them because after being married to our mc, he was constantly worried that something bad could happen to her.
I just read a little bit ahead and it looks pretty funny. For disclaimer this is not fully spoiler but more like brief character intro for my favourite characters ML has OCD and I am speculating he is ok with MC because she is so sickly that makes her skin whiter than others. He is overly possessive and at one point did not even let servants touch MC, to change clothes and staff (Somewhat uncertain about this). They did not go trough the cliche I will wait until you love me nonsense of romance before physicality, that was quite believable since when does it make sense for the arranged marriage couples to not have their first night, because they do not love each other yet? The stepmom is the best character in the novel, although she was cheated after giving birth to 6 or 7 children, she did not blamed MC for her mom's crimes and raised her. MC is better of than even the legitimate children of the wealthy families. MC's family is full of wise woman her sisters, her stepmom and her grandmother, this is the first time I saw a novel that does not insult other woman to make the main character shine. MC's father is also so fun to read, when the ML starts being possessive towards MC he curses inside saying MC has her family, you cannot claim my little girl your possession.
