He said two do-gooders which I guess means Maria, because she took initiative to pay the dept, but the other? Nothing too unexpected this chapter really.
Hahaha Claude killed 2 birds in 1, he got rid of fux and gave trouble for Felidos, and by the time wenisk find any evidence Claude would long gone.
I think Felidos the new mayor is the one who wrote the recommendation. The bald detective just ignored the most important evidence lol
You're right, I got the two mixed up. Wenisk is in charge of the naval base, Felidos is the new mayor who gave Claude a recommendation which got him drafted into the officers training program.
Bet that the something something sergeant will do something on 3rd day of the break, the goon that ran away is the foreshadow
Does anyone know if the author posted a map lie he did with TRL? I'm curious what Freia looks like, with Aueras and the other nations allied against it. I'm imagining something similar to France during the Napoleonic era, with the different coalitions and Italian and Egyptian campaigns, defeat in detail, etc.
I really see this a Great Britain, during the 1500, and their colony in Nubissia is like the United States before the Declaration of Independence. I have a feeling that that colony will rebel Similarly to our history.
It's possibly a mix of different eras/influences. To me, Nasri breaking the peace agreement and reating the anti-Aureas coalition trying to know Aureas down a peg or two and prevent them from becoming a hegemony ressembles how the English declared war on France and created the Third Coalition. Claude also somewhat resembles Napoleon, with his relatively humble beginnings and focus on new tactics to train his forces. I've heard that napoleon wasn't important enough to be a cavalry officer, since his family was only minor nobility, so instead he became an artillery officer, which turned out to be more important.
There isn't actually an official map for TRL. The one we provided was drawn up by A_Minerva for a map competition we ran back then.
Yeah, but it was based on an outline/sketch made by the author though, no? I meant something like that. I wouldn't mind giving making a proper map a shot if there was an outline with locations on it.
It's actually created by encouraging participants of the competition to read through the novel and come up with a rough map based on what is described.
I see. I've got bunch of information collected, I'm not sure if it's enought to come up with a proper map. I'll give I gave it a shot though, if anyone's interested I can post it.
That's awesome! There's also the map of Nubissia to look forward to later. Double the maps, double the fun!
I ended up making a hex-based map. It was just easier to organize information on it. I'm not super happy with it, but at least it gives a picture of what Freia might look like. In hindsight I should have used a smaller grid to make adding geography easier. Some stuff have been left out like Sharkmouth Bay and Lake Balinga because of that. (click for hi-res) Freia and Nubissa Freia (countries+geography) The Borderlands are the prefectures Nasri lost, and Berkely was annexed by Aueras in the last war. They're different shades of green because they're not 100% part of Aueras. As far as size goes, I went with a prefecture being ~7 hexes, a duchy was 5-8 prefectures, and a kingdom was >3 duchies (Shiks was just too big so I didn't bother dividing it up). Some details have been left out, like Simlock prefecture, Port Neru and Vebator and Sidin's two ports, and some small towns Claude visited on his way to enlist. They were kind of just mentioned in passing, but no real info on where they actually are. For Nubissia, we know a few things, so I just made some guesse as to what it looks like based off the following: Nubissia is huge, at least twice as large as Freia. Half of Freia's countries, mostly the coastal nations, sent expeditions to to set up colonies. Aueras has the most land - it's twice the size of the kngdom, and had to be divided up into 7 colonies for management. Nasri has a colony bordering Aureas Shicks has the second largest colony, but it is landlocked Coastal nations also have colonies, but they're all smaller than the above three nations.
Wow, it's pretty accurate according to the very rough map I have in mind. Good job. I'm sure after more refinements from the later chapters it'll only improve.
