Yeah, it's usually some generic title like "Cultivation Monarch" and the description is about something like "turning the heavens upside down with shake of hands, demons and immortals! Fear me! Behold my transcendent power and tremble before my will" waaat

It's different for Female-genre CN novels, in which case it'd look like this:
Black Bellied Husband Is Just Too Cute!
Su Rouxi: "Hehe, I will ravage you"
    Li Mufeng: *blushes*

I like it because most of the time it tells you if it has harems, most of which are terrible. It's harder with cn because even the synopsis is vague, but being a cn it usually does lol.

Basically it's a quick synopsis to let the reader latch onto the plot point.

For Chinese they pretty much acknowledge that the story will be some sort of rehash, so the synopsis becomes an area to flaunt the authors writing skill so you get poetry and flamboyant descriptions instead.

"I got reincarnated with a cheat power, so I'll live a slow life in the countryside."

"I became too OP, so I'll retire to a rural area."

"I was summoned as a Hero, but I got betrayed" ...... Oh, wait, that one already exists. :blobsweat::blobcheeky:

Syosetsu is set up so that the main page only shows the title of the novel and the name of the writer. You have to click on a particular title in order to get any other details about it. Personally, I think it has to do with the Light Novel industry starting the trend and amateur writers copying the books they read.

Personally, I think that overly long titles makes their books look cheap and amateurish, so it's a decent indicator of what to avoid.

Sounds like a story I can read on the toilet. Link please, with these Jp titles it's hard to tell if trolling or not.

These are like early 1800 thesis English papers. The title the history professor used as example can be broken into three sentences long.
