After reading CD most people can tell it was rushed at the end, I was wondering what people thought of just the portion in the beginning and what if the story stayed In the yulan plan or the universe was shrunk.
I actually likes the parts after he leaves the plane so not really. The author wrapped up pretty much everything to do with the yulan plane so there wouldn't have been much to add to what's already there
The ending was rushed, but the rest were fine. The later arcs felt more interesting to me than the Yulan plane.
I think the ending was a bit rushed but not that much, there is really no challenge left for him and IET never really goes back and tidies up loose ends, it’s usually implied that someone else takes care of them off scene. The problem with stopping at Yulan is it wouldn’t answer a lot of questions. He’d have to remove have rewritten a lot of the early hints like his mom’s sacrifice, offplane angel summons, where the previous family members went etc.
with novels that have too much text wall, they all have one thing in common and that is a rushed ending or endings that make no sense at all.....
CD is the only cultivation novel I wished were longer... It deserved more than rushed pacing (in the last 2 vols) and an (somewhat) abrupt ending.
I always liked the fresh new start on a new plane, made for my favorite parts of xianxia novels. But for all the wrong reasons. Those are the most interesting parts of those novels: the protagonists at least have to pretend to have a brain for a bit. Then they grow powerful and it's stock standard stuff again. New planes, a band-aid solution for bad writing. A typical xianxia story on one plane would be really bad. However, a story that's purposefully written to play out in one plane has so much more potential than xianxia can ever deliver. Hence, wuxia is the superior form of cultivation writing.
It depends... Is there any CD player in the Yulan plane ? If there is now way to read a Compact Disk there, it will be pretty useless to leave one there...
What if he removed the 7 divine planes and remodeled the story elements involving them and put more emphasis on the abyssal And here's a fun idea have the planar war be in the abyssal plane
