    All the Sirs, Misters are distracting from the story. It reads more like a fetish piece than a story. It's no surprise Asian novels have surpassed English novels.
    I hadn't read a new English novel in years and I couldn't help but be disappointed.
    It's a chore to read...

    Also the other suffixes as stated below. It breaks immersion. Only works if you are into fetish porn or eroge.
    It is even more out of place in a novel set in Asia

    Erm. I think they pretty the same to me if we're talking about the popularity. I see a lots of good novel in Wattpad. Some even reached more hundreds of million views

    When i was in hs- early college. I used to love english books. Mortal instruments,
    Percy jackson and the olympians, hunger games. I used to read these books before obviously someone made it a movie.
    Then i discovered manga (used to watch anime only) then while i was reading kingdom (manga) till the latest chapter. I searched for same manga for kingdom. But surprise ** the result was a certain novel on spcnet (a step in the past) then after that i discovered Coiling dragon ( he-man was still translating at that time). It was still on the undersea part (1st world).
    Then i went back reading my english books. After reading coiling dragon, i found reading english books as a core. 5 long sentences describing the fuc**ng weather. So many unnecessary words.
