    Hey there!
I am currently catching up on a novel and it has so many grammar mistakes that I just couldn't stop myself anymore. I thought I should help out if the translator is interested. Is it ok to name the novel here?
Also I am up for proofreading or editing work. I'm not a native English speaker but I think I have learned enough to edit novels lol.
    Thanks

This might be part of the reason why I see so many editors and proofreaders for a series release; yet, the chapters are still riddled with errors.

Spelling and syntax are not the worst thing, it's the errors that confuse the tone or context of a passage.

As an esl, I'd suggest considering to offer retranslation from English to your own. It benefits others of your native language, as well as a way to improve your grasp of translation and editing.

There is no market for such novels from where I am. There is a culture difference here. And about the spellings, it is not about that. The errors in tenses really put me off lol. If there is some fault in sentence structure, it hust feels wrong lol. I would reread it, correcting mistakes in my head lol

It's part of what you become used to in online novel translations. Considering the fact I read mtl for a few series, you can learn to ignore it.

Only time I suggest a correction is a poor translation choice, or a serious error affecting readability and understanding of plot.

The quality can be improved with some editing and proofreading. It makes the experience more enjoyable and that's the whole point of reading webnovels imho.

Omitting simple negative is also a big issue with Japanese novels.

    E.g.

You are really human. If you were human you would have known humans can live under water.

If you want to proofread/edit a particular novel, it would be best to contact the translator for that particular novel.

Yep but not every translator has the time to go through every comment and fix all the errors .-.

Even so you've got to admit that it's kinda ironic that someone looking to be a proofreader has spelling mistakes in their post
