Are their any original novels out there or has everything under the sun already been written and modified. I can’t help but wonder. I read reviews over and over complaining about how played out a genre is. Than I ask myself when was the last time you actually read a totally original novel. I came up with a blank. I just couldn’t think of one off the top my head.
So I’m asking the readers out there. Do you have a recommendation for a totally original novel out there?

I have to admit their are many original works out there. One great example is the Bible, but I was hoping for something more I don’t know maybe more recent.

In my list of novels I'm currently reading, there is only one very original novel.
"Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?"
I will not try to describe it here, because it's too damn original.

I can also recommend you "Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou". But it might actually be just a typical shoujo, I don't know about that.

An entirely original concept? I'm too stupid to remember everything I've read and far too lazy to go through my lists. Unless you look for reviews or chatter about a novel then anything could be an original. Someone could read Sword Art Online as the progenitor of a 'trapped in a game' story, or it could be .hack, or Tron. Or you could say it's a bastardization of Isekai.

You probably need to go fairly far back to read the origin of most concepts.

What's funny is that I can think of an origin novel. Terror Infinity was the start of the "infinite" genre. But here's the catch: infinite genre novels take elements from other novels. So nah, no totally original novels that I've seen

I'm going to judge originality by writing style because most concepts have some outside influence. These all have relatively unique story settings. I have no idea what kinds of novels you prefer so these stories have pretty diverse plots.

    Chronicles of Primordial Wars
    The Legend of Sun Knight
    The Great Storyteller
Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich
    ~Doomsday Wonderland
    ~The King's Avatar
    ~Doulou Dalu

    ~ = Maybe

Most classics were original when they were created.

You're going to have to go way back, to the near beginnings of writing that still exist as books. Books such as:
    Epic of Gilgamesh
Classic of Poetry, Classic of Documents, Classic of Changes
    Illiad, Odyssey
    The Art of War
    Aesop's Fables
    The Histories of Herodotus
    Argonautica

(Disclaimer: I have not read most of them.)

There are modern books that take from concepts and combine them into new ideas, but I'll leave that to someone else to do. :blobcozy::blobcozy::blobcozy:

Dunno about all of you, but right now i'm reading a story called A Tristan Tale by IncomingPornDuck on literotica right now. The series got an absurdly high amount of rating there, about someone that got a power similar to mind control... Coming for snu snu, stay for the story.

There are no completely original novels. They are all based off of outside influences. Even the basics of having magic or whatnot have to be something we know, otherwise the reader can't become immersed in the story. There is just a slowly evolving archetype of every genre, and maybe some branching off of it, only to later wind back in.

For some more unique novels I recommend the Wheel of Time series, legend of sun knight, Savage Divinity (RRL) and the stormlight archives.

These were the first and earliest forms of writings that still exist, so the stories may not be original, but the texts that contain them were original, though the originals of the originals are probably dust by now.

"Coeus" by Andur. Basically mages in space. And as magic defy science, somehow they are stronger then the peaceful and harmful alien races that appear later in the story.
