As a reader, Sometimes, i feel wordexcerpt loves to spilt a single chapter into several parts making each and every translated chapter too short. Then again, if you wanna read in advance you gotta sponsor their patreon. I'm too broke to do that.
Sounds like the same old thing to me. Um sure its a common issue with this type if site. All we can do is tough it out or pay out. Hang in there guys.
Out of curiousity, is there anyone that already tried the paid feature??? Is it good for providing chapters or not??? And how it is compared to wuxiaworld??
As an author I’ve had a pretty good experience. Editor always edits on time, you get a lot of feedback from the other staff, and boss is going to commission a cover for my novel soon. The only somewhat bad thing that happened to me was being deranked by two novels I helped translate bits of. That was slightly frustrating. As a reader, there are a lot of ads, but I usually don’t care because all I have to do is scroll down a bit more. Not as annoying as pop up ads on other places in my opinion. Maybe that’s just me lol.
As reader I had very bad opinion, they dropped high rating yuri novel (Quick Transmigration: Fate Trading System) it was 9th in ratings there. and interesting novel put on hiatus - "Second Story Online: Aiming To Become The World’s Number 1. Ideal Witch" and seems they dropped it. That what I read there.
The payments feature for most novels isn't in-house like wuxiaworld, but uses patreon instead. Will have to check the translator's patreon to know if the cost/quantity suits you. The VIP is different and lets you read (a lot of) unreleased chapters for a selection of novels at a very reasonable price.
I think I'm fine with splitting chapters as long as they have at least some minimum word count. But I mostly read ROTTP anyways (and PA by virtue of my title), and that doesn't have split chapters, so ^^
I read three novels on that site, don't really mind, except they need to give me more ROTTP. Like, all of it. NAOW~~~. I wanna know what happens next... They release content, sure their latest content is stuck behind a paetreon wall, but they will release it all eventually.
Hm, they're alright? They have multiple translators so quality depends on the story you're reading. They do cut the chapters up without compensating with a frequent release time. That being said, I support one of their translator's Patreons to get early chapter releases. So their release scheme does work to get people to cough up money. it took months before I caved in though I guess they've got some pay model but that doesn't have the stories I'm interest in so meh
As a reader, a bit annoying with split chapters but still, who am I to make a complaint for free chapters. Just stack the chapters if you feel annoying
Haha you got suckered in. Yeah, as was said. Depends on the translator. I skimmed through a Japanese novel I wanted to pick up last year as they dropped it and it hurt my eyes. It was from a third party translator though. No experience as an author.
