When people say don’t give up, don’t trust them. Believe me, don’t trust them. You got to use common sense to how this term is used. It would cost you an arm and leg if you blindly trust them. Seriously, you would. There are some thing in life that aren’t meant to be yours. I know, there are very lucky people out there. And never look at the achievement of someone and say: he/she could do it why can’t I? I can be like that too! Sorry bud, you need to know your limits. Yea I get it, people always saying: don’t let other people’s opinion stop you. That how miracle happens. That how those great people make it rich, like bill gate and the creator of Apple and so many others. Yea—one in a trillions. I say good luck trying. I’m being cynical and I’m negative and I’m been low-esteem, and I am being blah blah. I get it. But I’m weighting my chances and my motivation. A lot of the times, people have tunnel vision. They see something and think that’s all it will ever be and that’s what they want. Yea—sometimes they know what they want, they go for it, and they make it. Sometimes, they know what they want, they go for it, and they didn’t get it. Should they keep hammering away until they make it? Depends. My motto is slowly becoming: try it once, twice, and the third time. If you fail, time to move on. Of course if opportunity arise, you can try it the fourth, fifth, and so on until you get it or let’s stay on the positive side and say, you found something else that fit.
There r some things in life u should never give up, and others which u should realize when to give up on. Knowing the difference b/w the two makes all the difference.
I'd eventually try again if I love it... and I'm more like a 'don't give up till ya try it' at least >_<
don't give up life.......yeah, don't believe me on that..... there is a big difference beetwen not giving up when you are pursuing a goal, and not giving up when you doing some thing you don't want to do in first place.....
Is this about college? I feel like half or more of the people who enter don't get anything out of it.
Imho, somethings in life is worth fighting for even if you felt like there is no point to struggle any longer.. the funny thing is you could only see that worth when you looked back or sometime you might not even notice the result. But in the end it’s all about personal choice. What is your life goal, what is your current goal, what matters for you in life? Some people live to work, other live for family, or wealth etc.. the answer could also fluctuate as you grow older. Whatever the answer is there is no right or wrong since it’s a personal journey. You win some, you lose some.. but there is no best answer. Only you could answer it at the end whether it’s been a worthy journey or not. Also, if you are tired from never giving up or frustrated, it’s okay to rest. Life could be longer than you know it. Take a day or a week, away from what you are working so hard from. Enjoy life.. its worth seeing the small things.. nature, friends, families.. just experience living. Since we are in novel updates forum, let me end the post with a poem. ithaka BY C. P. CAVAFY TRANSLATED BY EDMUND KEELEY As you set out for Ithaka hope your road is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, angry Poseidon—don’t be afraid of them: you’ll never find things like that on your way as long as you keep your thoughts raised high, as long as a rare excitement stirs your spirit and your body. Laistrygonians, Cyclops, wild Poseidon—you won’t encounter them unless you bring them along inside your soul, unless your soul sets them up in front of you. Hope your road is a long one. May there be many summer mornings when, with what pleasure, what joy, you enter harbors you’re seeing for the first time; may you stop at Phoenician trading stations to buy fine things, mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony, sensual perfume of every kind— as many sensual perfumes as you can; and may you visit many Egyptian cities to learn and go on learning from their scholars. Keep Ithaka always in your mind. Arriving there is what you’re destined for. But don’t hurry the journey at all. Better if it lasts for years, so you’re old by the time you reach the island, wealthy with all you’ve gained on the way, not expecting Ithaka to make you rich. Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey. Without her you wouldn't have set out. She has nothing left to give you now. And if you find her poor, Ithaka won’t have fooled you. Wise as you will have become, so full of experience, you’ll have understood by then what these Ithakas mean.
Is there a point to this? Don't give up doesn't apply to everything and everyone, so such a vague phrase doesn't make sense to discuss. You think you wanna learn computer programming because it's paid well, comfortable job and wanted everywhere but you can barely use pc's, suck at math and logic. Give up, you're delusional. You're a gamer who's suprised at the complexity of programming after the oh so ez Hello World, don't give up. You're a shower singer and go to a talent show, everybody tells you to give up. Then give up, you're delusional and can't hear how badly you sing. You're a singer but your parents tell you to stop wasting your time and dreaming, you'll at best be a 2nd rate singer in a local bend. Don't give up, you can always sing while having some other job until you get noticed.
I personally NEVER give up, I just add it to my "to do list" and will probably get back to it in a few millenniums, I swear!
Talent, natural or nurtured? A bit of both I supposed. Frankly, the yardstick used here is always someone who is better than you. So the question on whether to give up lies on a few criteria set by myself: 1. Is the thing making me rich? Fuck care fame, even though fame can sometimes lead to wealth, it is not a guarantee. 2. Do I have the natural talent for it? If yes, is it big enough to influence me? 3. Can I cultivate a (nutured) talent for it and not lose too much time and ultimately the race? Motivation is something you give yourself everyday. The motivation of me not dying is because I don't want to die, even though I don't know why. 4. Will I end up become the second rate thanks to comparision to the yardstick (this will always exist)? If so, does doing the thing still make me rich? If yes, keep doing it. 5. Will I be chasing money forever? No. I just want to keep myself and family loaded enough to weather shits and maybe vacations, then die off a natural death. For the record, if the 1st criteria is not met, I would suggest to park the shit elsewhere, like in hobbies.
this is this while that is that one failure is ok but 3? that mean there huuge problem you need to fix
That's others to be honest, once the person that they told that gets up, they literally will try to bring that person down if he/she becomes successful. Some even just does it to satisfy themselves and after doing it, they will literally not care about you anymore in the long run.
Yup, I agree. No use throwing yourself relentlessly at some futile endeavor. Or at the very least, if you are going to try again, figure out what went wrong before trying again.
