    This is why it's always better to read raws. Why pay for translations when you can just let google translate or microsoft translate do the work for free?

    By making it vague af when they started it.

    1. "Hey guys we mass released chapters for novels!"
    2. "Pay for these privelege chapters to read them!"
    3. Customer pays... then realize they still have to pay again for the chapter after paying for privilege.
    4. ???
    5. Outrage!


    Back to the reply I mentioned before :
    WebNovel : If you pay for privilege, you get to read ahead! Oh! But we did not tell you that you still have to pay for the chapters itself! Hohohoho! We are totally not a scummy greedy company and we love our readers! Whale for us more~

    Difference: WW is all free chapters with extra to pay for to read ahead.
    Qidian is all paid-for chapters, with extra to pay to read ahead, then pay again anyway because you're "privelaged".

    Well, this is kinda like comparing apples and oranges now, isn't it? Wuxiaworld is free to read otherwise, Webnovel is not. I don't really mind this privilege chapters or whatever, but the problem is them asking money for something that is already not free. It is like saying "oh, you have purhased this ice cream but you have to pay 5 times more (that is how much it costs to read privileged chapters) if you want to eat it NOW." I don't think people are mad cuz of "privilege" but rather the way they are treated. They disabled "all you can read for X amount montly" for this abomination.

    It's an Apple business model. Here's a overpriced monitor but to actually use it you need to buy this extremely overpriced stand because we like more money.

    This can also be like a internet provider that charge you per data you use but also ask you to pay monthly for using the internet...

    I'm still laughing at the username CKtalon in the webnovel thread use flawed analogies and get called out on them and proven wrong so many times, yet he still insists that hes right or change the subject cause he know he fucked up, yet does not want to admit it :facepalm:

    Side note : I would love for an Intermet Historian style of video on Qidian. Years of stories to talk about. :blobpopcorn:

    The story of Qidian is as fun to follow as Fallout 76 back in the days. Nothing much on 76 side recently but Qidian serves new content once again.

    Yeah, this is no different from Patreon tiers, and they already said the regular release rate won't be affected, so there's literally no reason to complain. ... Although, I suppose you can complain about the whole "pay for the right to pay for chapters" thing. It would have been a lot more straightforward to just sell access to the advanced chapters.

    An interesting side effect is that they seem to have defeated piracy. So far at least, none of the aggregators seem to have been willing to pay the relatively high cost for these advanced chapters.
