... So looking at the page, it seems MC is a seme. Not my type of BL. Runs away. Thank you for the tag tho. I might try this one when im out of BL to read or smth.
This is more of a crack/satire story more than it is a romance story. It's also really really short, only 19 chapters, not even on VIP. Raw link: http://www.jjwxc.net/onebook.php?novelid=1791673 Basic gist is that the ML (the POV character of the overstory, which I'm calling ML since he's the gong/top) is suddenly transmigrated into a book plot. No system, no impending death in the real world, no explanation of why he's transmigrated, just BAM. ML is not impressed, moreso when he realizes he's the slag gong in a dogblood drama. You know those kind of stories where you have an abusive rich powerful male lead who abuses the weak passive "MC", usually cheating/siding with/carrying a torch for love rivals, taking "MC" for granted, rape/imprisonment/etc... and then the "MC" tries to leave them, and then the male lead suddenly expresses how he's sorry and will change, and after some grovelling, the "MC" forgives them and ...HE. Yeah. That kind of story, except BL instead of BG where you usually see them. World 1 is a replacement white moonlight script. ML is in a relationship with "MC" shou because "MC" looks a lot like his childhood crush, and he's using him for a replacement. Scene starts as they get to the airport where the white moonlight crush is returning to China (with his wife, but no one cares about her). ML takes them to a restaurant along with "MC" shou, and when a fire breaks out in the restaurant, he saves the friend over "MC" shou. Both the friend and "MC" shou end up in the same hospital. 2ML, currently an NPC who also has feelings for "MC" shou, shows up to try and threaten ML. ML plays along with the script, all the while poking holes at the stupidity of it all in his thoughts. Until finally it gets to the part where he has to throw his dignity aside and grovel a lot at the white lotus. He finally has enough and goes off on a rant at the "MC" shou, telling him forget it they're breaking up. Of course, as punishment for breaking character, as soon as he leaves the building, he gets run over by a truck. End world 1. World 2 starts with ML as an emperor (supposedly with a female empress and concubines, etc. though they don't really show up), who's been "favoring" a new scholar from the civil exams, "MC" shou. Same names, same faces... Anyway, knowing that breaking character too far = death, ML gets more cautious and feels out the "rules" of this book transmigration thing. Eventually he figures out that as long as he performs the letter of the script, he can make any kind of changes outside of that. For example, if the script calls for him to "feel great regret and repent" he can change it to "feel great regret and repent...for one second". Then 2ML shows up, a rival prince (wangye), same name, same look. Except ML notices that he's acting a little...off this time. Did that guy just roll his eyes at the "MC" shou's white lotus act? ML also secretly spied on 2ML dragging "MC" shou's unconscious body off instead of carrying him off while no one else was looking. And also saw that 2ML actually vomited in the middle of his dog blooded confession to "MC" shou. Hm. Then the story gets to the part where ML is going off to lead army personally against some other country. And he spies on "MC" shou asking 2ML to promise to look after ML. (Unbeknownst to him but known to 2ML, the plot will later require 2ML to take an arrow meant for ML, sacrificing himself for their "love".) 2ML finally blows up at "MC" shou, calling him an idiot, and also making analogies about how he's McDonald's and ML is KFC, and you don't go into McDonalds asking for KFC fried chicken... After that awesome rant, 2ML stomps off (and then dies by walking into a tree -_-). ML breaks out laughing... and dies laughing. End world 2. World 3 is a criminal underground story, where ML is the leader of the gang who wanted revenge on the death of his friend (same name as the white moonlight from world 1) and blamed "MC" shou for. Original host pretended to get together with "MC" shou and then used him to usurp his family's power, becoming a new gang boss. "MC" shou is being imprisoned in his guest bedroom, all the better to "torture" (yeah, this was supposed to be a M/s story or something). 2ML was a surviving loyal agent of "MC" shou's family, and comes to "prevent ML from inflicting revenge"...and walks in on ML trying to put dirty underwear on an unconscious "MC" shou's head. 2ML: ... / ML: What you think I want to sleep with him, Mr. McDonalds? ML and 2ML get together in private and figure out they're both victims of this book transmigration business, though 2ML only got started in the last world. They commiserate with each other on the idiot roles they're forced to act out, and get drunk together. While drunk, 2ML suggests they bang, since they're both gay men. ML scoffs, saying how that's gonna work with 2 tops. Obviously someone will have to bottom, and ML refuses because he doesn't like pain. 2ML rolls his eyes and agrees to bottom, and they roll the sheets. The next day ML barely remembers what happened, but eh, rolls with it since 2ML is at least a decent guy to talk to and a comrade in the resistance against the script. Anyway, despite them trying to keep things on track by the letter of the script, they still end up warping the story. They both realize that they're gonna get killed off again, and instead of waiting for the script to kill them off, decide to take things into their own hands. ML takes a pill (cuz he can't stand pain XD) and 2ML goes the gun route. End world 3. World 4 is the last world, some kind of entertainment biz story where ML is the standard media biz CEO and "MC" shou is his kept newbie actor. ML realizes he doesn't have the rest of the story script plot in his head, and wonders if the script is trying to prevent him from breaking the plot again, or if it's just that the rest of the plot hasn't been written yet. (Turns out to be the latter, as Script-san is actually incarnating itself/himself into MC shou this time to try and force the story to turn out as intended...) Anyway, ML tails MC shou to a dinner invite from a friend, in order to check if it's 2ML. Apparently not at first, and a few repeat NPCs show up. However, 2ML does eventually show up; he's apparently a...Thai movie star? He and ML immediately ditch the dinner and go off to roll the sheets. And plot. Though they didn't get to the plotting part when MC shou gets back and walks in on them in bed. And goes ballistic, ranting about how they can't do this, they're ruining the story, blah blah. ML and 2ML aren't impressed, which makes Script-san blacken and go, "then I'll make you!" Fade to black. Fade in. ML finds himself at the prep room for his wedding to MC. They've apparently skipped straight to the ending (something which required a lot of power from Script-san, and preventing him from being able to narratively affect that world again). MC tries to leave the wedding, but gets forced by the guests from MC shou onto the alter, his mouth muffled so he can't say no, while the priest doesn't seem to realize that's odd. Fortunately, 2ML shows up to crash the wedding, and turns everything into chaos. Since there's no way for the wedding to proceed, MC shou/Script-san screams in outrage and fizzles into vapor, but no one cares. Without the script to control the world anymore, ML and 2ML get married and live out the rest of their lives in that setting. (Apparently they don't care about getting back to the real world or whatever.) Then there's 1 extra with some backstory as to who "MC" shou/script-san was in real life and why he wrote ML and 2ML into his dog blood dramas. ML was previously a delivery boy who regularly made delivery of flowers to MC shou's dormmate, except MC shou kept spying on his delivery and thought ML was his secret admirer. Eventually MC shou confronts ML about it and throws the flowers back at him. ML hands the flattened flowers to the dormmate: "here's your delivery, it got flattened by some random weirdo, no refunds". MC shou is mortified and blames ML for......not being his secret admirer? (*cough* some people). Then he asked his dormmate who sent the flowers, and dormmate told him the name of his boyfriend. MC then typed in the name of ML and that boyfriend into his story. Except he misspelled the boyfriend's name... so 2ML is a completely random person who got pulled into this mess. Poor dude. So yeah, short crack story with kind of an abrupt ending...
Yeah the ending was really abrupt. I can see why ML might not have cared about returning to the real world. There he's a poor college student doing flower delivery jobs, and iirc orphan. In the last book world he's a rich corporate boss. So yeah. Don't know about 2MLs background, but he also might have it better in the book world as a world famous movie star married to a rich corporate boss...
