It started when he was forgotten in various mafia and or games and then in the matchmaking events and it finally escalated to much more somehow.

It's actually from a card game I used to play. It relied super-heavily on RNG. Many players used to half-joke about praying to RNGesus. (half because you know they're crossing their fingers even if they don't admit it)
So I thought it was especially good for the idea of 'rolling the dice'
Lot of nice art from that game. (though I did hate a few of the cards)
Fun mechanics. Even had a nice story behind everything too.
Too bad it failed.

hmm. You know, almost every character in that game is a girl, which was probably bait for guys who want waifus. I wouldn't have ever tried it if not for someone asking me to fight them in the game. But it was cool how there was this big gritty backstory and every important character was a girl.
They made a short manga about the game, but they made up a new character who moves everything forward, and of course made that character a guy, probably for self-insert reasons. The contrast was a bit big, when you make all these strong characters suddenly begin to revolve around one person. *smh* I wish they had put the story in the manga the same as the one in the game. I can see how it'd be confusing which part of the plot to follow to not confuse the readers though.
But reading just the flavor text from the game, and piecing the story together bit by bit like looking for clues was damn fun.
edit 2 : and apparently I lacked clues. I tried looking up a summary of some of it and there was stuff I wasn't aware of in there.

It's nice when those games have a nice story... The mobile game I'm playing atm (summoners war) has basically 0 story to it and like... Just pure gameplay thingy.

And the controllable character is probably a self-insert guy too, which is kind of a waste since "he" never really talks nor has any appearance or whatever... There was a girl that could be the MC just fine and it would just make the story better, but they decided to make her your assistant instead... *sighs*

A shame the game you liked failed though... T.T

Oh, I agree that it's fun to start looking around for flavor to try piecing a story together, but it's always so hard to find everything! >.<
... I usually end up always looking for the summaries and always find lots of stuff I didn't find myself... >.>

 

Paradoxically, it can mean that I became unforgettable. As every time you think about something forgettable (which you will do since your memory ain't perfect), I appear.
