Dam! Your right. I’ve been pronouncing it wrong all this time. Viscosity subtract sity and add count. Learn something new every day.
So I just learnt I've been pronouncing that wrong my whole life..and I'm supposed to be native in English... I can't get used to VY-count though so I'll stick with saying VIZ-count aha
If you think that doesn't make sense, try your hand at english town names. Hunstanton, pronounced Hun-ston Leominster, pronounced Lim-ster Mousehole, pronounced Mow-zel Alnwick, pronounced An-ik Bicester, pronounced Bis-ter Fowey, pronounced Foy
I actually know how it’s pronounced. But from all the Engrish I try to piece together while on here and reading books which royalty and the like. My mind has just grown used to phonetically saying everything I read. Lol. It’s much easier when you’re reading complicated Chinese names or other language names. YOU HAVE NO IDEA TO PRONOUNCE.
Yep. That’s pretty much the same boat I’m in now. Told one of my buddies I won’t change the way I read/say it but I’ll feel some shame knowing I’m wrong. Yeah. The thing is English is my first language, and looking up word origins isn’t one of my hobbies lol. Had no idea where it came from
NEARLY 2 decades. If I were to guess when I first saw the word I was probably around 10 years old. I just rounded up ♂️
