Discussion Character x Reader fanfiction

Recently I've been curiously reading this sort of fanfiction again~! The sort where the author tries to write a truly blank character that stands in for the reader (and writing things like "Your Name" where their name should be) while being paired with a chosen character.

For example...
Mereoleona (Black Clover) x Female Reader
Erza Scarlet (Fairy Tail) x Female Reader
Bowsette x Female Reader

Most aren't well written, but I'm enjoying them since they're fast and fun. They provide all the joy of yuri shipping without needing to worry about who you're shipping them with.

What do you think of Character x Reader fanfiction? Did you read it when you were younger? Do you think it would be fun to write this sort of thing?

Character x Reader? no I don't think I read anything like that, although I think I played a game like that in the past, can't remember though
But I don't think I would like a fanfiction like that, since I am not into romance novels, perhaps if there is one with horror or gore

 

Not all of them are long and romantic. There are lemon oneshots.

 

Don't lemon oneshots make the romance more intense and physical? where is the horror and gore in that?

 

What about ones with bloodplay?

 

Not sure, not what I have in mind, not that I know of any novel like that either, is it good?

 

It's decent. The bloodplay was thrown in at the end without much warning, but the character is rare to find a fic with right now.

I'd recommend you a good fanfic with it, but the only one I know is yaoi.

 

Idon't read that genre, anyway, I found something which I think I might like, it contains horror but I don't think it does have bloodplay, it is called 'Jurassic Park + Doki Doki Literature Club Crossover'
