Discussion How do Flat Earthers explain the simple act of looking through a Telescope?

You can buy a decently strong Telescope that can let you see other Planets for a few hundred Dollars. They not only let you see a round planet, but the Planet's ROTATION as well.

So what is their excuse?

The earth is unique. they won't say it in those words. they'll say "why don't agree with the terra centric model of the universe and instead agree with the helio centric one?"

 

They'd probably argue that just because other planets are round doesn't mean Earth is.

 

There are a lot of excuses.

Telescopes are fake and show false images as part of a massive conspiracy to hide the truth.
It's an optical illusion.
You can't actually see planets through telescopes, that's just a myth and nobody bothers to check because good telescopes are expensive.
Just because the moon and other planets are round doesn't mean Earth is round.

 

How do flat earthers explain [insert anything here].
The answer is always the same, "I can't hear you! (while plugging their ears) you sheep who listens to illuminati's lies".

 

The flat earth is the center of the universe and all the round body planets rotate around earth. Apparently as earth continually speeds up apporching light speed.

 

Something something, everything else is a sphere, but earth is a flat disc.

It's less about using an excuse and more that they question everything.

If they could use that theory an apply it to the real world, then great. But you can't use GPS nor calculate space distances with a flat earth. So... Nope

 

I imagine something like:
Earth got life, if it was round, people would fall off of it, therefore, it can't be round and only flat

 

Stupidity. Sheer stupidity. That is their excuse.
