Looks like once the ground floor went up in flames, all the escape routes got cut off, not to mention the smoke, you can see the whole building acting like a chimney.
Not really sure where OP got the knowledge that he poured fuel and set fire on someone, the article and from what I heard in the news he was effectively a suicide bomber, walking into the lobby, screaming to kill them and setting himself or around him on fire and later someone reported hearing a bang.
From what someone said in the reddit, he was someone who entered their contest and was refused. But they supposedly used some of it anyways.
Yeah it seems the fire produce blinding smoke in matter of minutes trapping most of the poor victims inside.
This is tragic, my condolences to the staff lost and those injured. And towards their families who are dealing with the aftermath. This event will cause ripples within the industry.
If the injured and dead are key persons then even with insurance money kyoani will face an uphill battle after this
Not a fan of KyoAni stuff, but rip. There are two sides to a story, so you ignorant weebs be quiet. He/She must have been fucked over pretty hard to go burn them down.
If list will be confirmed then they are really in bad situation. There are key directors even in ongoing or future series. Not even mention another ones. If people are uninjured there could be mental health problems, psychic disorders etc. And in that building was animation and image servers, huge lists of drafts of scenarios or archives. They had fought with fire 5 hours. I doubt that there will be much left that wasn't backed up. It will understandable that some series will be slowed, paused or even outright cancelled.
Yes. Those 33 people confirmed dead, and even more than that injured, must have done something absolutely horrible to that man. I don't care if the CEO of KyoAni stole his car and screwed his wife, absolutely nothing justifies what he did. I won't join the choir suggesting he himself be lit on fire, but I think it's important to recognize that they're just expressing outrage over absolutely indefensible conduct. It doesn't matter what happened to the guy, really. Besides, people are nuts. For all we know this is about his OTP not getting together in an anime.
There are eyewitnesses that said they heard the culpit scream about something stolen by KyoAni from him
we can only wait for the official statement, shrugs. The suspect did post something at 2ch before doing the attack cmiiw.
