The problem is that some writers think they are "unique' when what they produce is generic so they think "everyone else stole from them" when all that happens is that he is walking down a road many people throd before. Not much room for new stuff these days, it's all been done before. Robot suits? Lost in Space/Other World/Just Lost? OPed protag? Tropes, all of them. All it shows is someone who has not been keeping an eye on public fads.
I dunno. I only have second hand information. That's why I didn't post the screenshot of their post to avoid misinformation.
There are bit more articles on several mainstream networks. New York Times -https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/17/world/asia/japan-fire-animation-studio.html Japan Times - https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...ans-shocked-arson-attack-famous-kyoto-studio/ BBC - https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-49027178 There is still a developing story and an investigation. Some of the twitter feeds are actually pointing out the fire safety of the building and saying it was like a trap for those inside. Some people tried to escape towards the rooftop, but didn't make it. A twitter link with a pic of the building map.
Not sure if its his work or a part of his work(a concept?), but that is "supposedly". Do keep in mind we are talking about a person who thinks killing over 30 people is somehow a justifiable act for something 1 or 2 people who may not have even been in that specific branch makes sense. So who knows what kind of delusions he may or may not have had. Maybe he submitted an isekai and saw kyoani doing an isekai as well and thought the concept of isekai was his idea, who knows...
so yeah this is definitely a bad news for the anime community and also the worst mass murder in post-war japanese history... source: Now im worried about the studio who made the arifureta anime ...
What's worse are the scumbag liberals who calls this murderer a hero just cause they hate anime and says it's the rising of anti degenerates.
If you dont think this hit homes, they might be directors or animator or members who works on your favorite series that could have been one of the 33 dead. That's depressing as hell. Jesus, so sad. Small addition: From what I read, this is their main animation studio.
I wonder if Kyoto Animation will even recover as 30 or more people died, there equipment and data probably burned or the survivors even willing to work?
I wonder if that criminal doesn't have an accomplice on the roof.. i think i read something about a grandma nearby seeing someone coming down from the roof... then there's speculations that the roof door may only be opened from outside. Not a fact though.. gonna wait for detailed report..
Don't forget that there is quite a number of people in Japan that will destroy or burn a fortune in collectibles and goods and send death treat or even go stalk or physically theaten others people because they found a female 2D character isn't a virgin so...
He posted to a chan board before he set the building on fire, telling people not to go to kyo tomorrow Also the reason why he set the building on fire was because it had something to do with Yuri not being included or included in an anime adaptation Imagine burning a building down cuase of a scene in an anime of a girl playing a saxophone
There is no two sides this time The guy posted online before burning the building and said that moe shit is killing kyo so he decided to burn it down
Well, it really shouldn't be surprising and it's not just people in Japan. There is always a population of unstable people in any country that when triggered will set them off like a matchstick. There are people who have killed for much less than this arsonist, sadly...
This is sad ofcourse. Out of my selfish perspective I hope that no one that worked or works on Full Metal Panic died. Other than that I didn't watch any other anime from them, not that I watch anime whatsover anymore.
