    i read a lot Chinese novel, at first it feel intresting but after my third novel i found some point that make it no differences than another, it feels generic and bland
    the point that i found are
    1. Face Slapping : its not really funny to humiliate another person
    2. Mindless Power Leveling : when we think that the character are strong there are more character stronger than before and its repeating endlessly
    3. Forgotten character
    4. Recycled Plot : Tournament arc, Rejected Fiancee, Plot Armor overusing, predictable Action
    5. Mary Sue/ Gary Stu character

    you can add this if you think that it had more point that make chinese novel unbearable

    you have just described shonen manga.

    But to be serious, yes, the typical CN xianxia/wuxia is a shonen manga. it is too high fantasy and it has serious issues with power creep.

    you do sometimes find the gem in the rough like hunter x hunter or toriko which would be city of sin or stellar transformation/coiling dragon for me.

    Pretty ironic considering this post is recycled. ''Chinese novels bad'' isnt exactly an original post topic. And, as i've said in the other posts where someone says this, it aint Chinese novels that got a problem, it's just you that keep on reading the trash ones.

    I agree. The best remedy for most of this complaining is to simply read better books. Even if you just confine yourself to just Chinese novels, there are tons of books out there that don't have this stuff, so it can only be the reader's fault for not reading them.

    this is the sad thing, most people only read garbage CN with full of face-slappping, tournament fiillers and nonsense power-up only to complain about it on NUF

    high rating doesn't necessarily mean it's a good read for you. You want to read the synopsis, take a glance at the tags and read a few of the reviews. It should give you a general idea on the novel.
    You need to look deeper than the rating, because clearly you aren't finding the good ones from just that.

    True, there’s a lot of underrated gems out there,
    honestly I’d rather have JP Translations, not webnovels but light novels though

    People keep saying "that is bad novel, go read a good one". Well, even the top ranking cn novel on this site is full of these cliches. Most of the cn novels, even the top rated one are like that, you can't deny that. The "good" one is actually pretty rare and underrated.

    This I agree with. It wrecks a ton of otherwise promising novels. It's a breath of fresh air whenever any Romance novel is revealed to be free of this problem.

    The ratings on NU are effectively worthless. Not only are there a ton of decent books rated low and a ton of terrible books rated high, but anyone who is more critical will have ratings that matter less than those who rate everything at 1 or 5.

    yes, that's why you should read the novels review and synopsis(tho some synopsis are crap).

    Ratings and top ranking on novelupdates doesn't really work that well since some people just either rate it 1 or 5 and worse they rate it after only reading few chapters out of a thousand, and most importantly a lot of novels starts out good but turns crap and those gems that starts out crap and turns great but people doesn't have the patience to continue reading.

    Yeah, we're all saying they're trash novels (and I do think they are and I can't understand why anyone would want to read more than one), but there's an insane amount of people who love reading that shit.
