    Brain = off
    Actually wanting to understand the plot = off

    OR

    Brain = MAX POWER
    Suffering = MAX POWER

    Should see some of the posts on the forums especially in novel pickups. If you ask me those are even lower quality than mtl.

    you dont understand it when your grammar prowess is above 90, you need to be slowly corrupted by it then by lowering your prowess you can understand it but not fully, the world of lnmtl can never be controlled nor the be understood by mere mortals

    Some novels are easier to understand than others, depending on factors like how good the glossary is and the way the author writes. I started with Transcending the Nine Heavens and found it fairly readable.

    Also, it starts pretty incomprehensible but if you keep reading enough your brain adapts surprisingly quickly so it just depends on how much you're willing to go through that initial suffering to read a novel.

    If you're a pedant who can't stand non-perfect English then it will be insufferable regardless though.

    Do report back if you suffer a speech impediment like talking like an mtl.

    (genuinely concerned person)

    You read enough of the stuff and in the end, you either get used it and get some damaged brain cells and somehow become able to understand and speak the language or you start feeling your intellect dropping so you stop caring about it

    Pick out the words you understand and make a complete sentence in you brain...
    Change too many repeating words with a name.

    Ps. I have a toddler... its pretty much the same as talking to one.

    I've mtl-ed some chapters of my fav novel once as I was too impatient to wait for updates. True, some novels are easier to mtl, but it's a brain-frying job anyway.

    At first, didn't really bother me because I was so desperate to know what happen next. Now, I don't even read novels unless it can half-decently produce English on a coherent level.

    I already gave up trying to read any mtl because my brain was always filled with a bunch of ????, especially when random country names pop out in the middle of the sentences.

    Step 1: Find the nearest wall.
    Step 2: Smash head against wall
    Step 3: Check the MTL
    Step 4: If you can read it, continue on reading, if not, repeat again from step 1.
