Discussion Wang Lin's parents are one of the worst MC parents in history

    So, this kid's parents are happy that his uncle gets the kid a chance to get into a sect. And then, the dumb af parents decide to hold a party, automatically assuming that their son is already an immortal, boasting to the villagers (who are also dumb, but not catastrophically so). They lie to temporarily be put on a pedestal for no actual work on their part (the uncle got the opportunity, the selection would depend on the kid's innate talent) and when Wang Lin fails to secure a spot in the sect at the cost of significant self torture, the publicly embarrassed parents drive him to commit suicide.

    Xianxia parents are either amazing understanding people doomed to be background characters, or more likely killed. Or utter worthless scum of the earth.

    The parents don’t really understand how sects work. That’s not their fault. Sure, they got overzealous, but sometimes that’s better than being pessimistic. They made a lot of mistakes, but when holding them to the standard of parents, it’s not that bad.

    Some of them have absolutely precious parents. Meng Hao’s Mom is out here making sure her son steals properly. “If it’s nailed down, take the nails too.” Yun Che and Lin Ming have super sweet parents. They just want their kids to be happy, nothing else.

    Never heard of that before but it makes me happy that even Chinese censorship can't halt the spread of information when netizens get working ^^. Also screw that guy.

    Tho honestly I'd be happier if that guy just got shanked and died in prison.
