After 5 minutes of watching, Ai-chan was grinning, thinking, "What a piece of shit."

    M. Night Shyamalan should just stick to horror, which he's not even doing well enough these days.

Watching these adults doing kungfu moves to bend fire and another group of adults marching and moving uniformly to throw rocks while CGI stuff (which is crap) does things with fire and rock, while the Aang's group is within arm's length of the fire benders who could've just punched the fire benders in the face or stab them in the back. Instead, they just watch while everyone do kungfu moves while the fire benders don't even register that they have turned their backs on people who could've just stabbed them with a knife.

Watching this made Ai-chan realize that M. Night Shyamalan should just retire because he clearly has been releasing crap after crap that his office must be smelling of manure by now.

So have you watched the live action? Which part gave you the biggest impression (or caused the biggest annoyance)?

That is really what you call a masterpiece of shit.
The last air bender and also the dragon ball.

I've also heard of Bleach live-action, but just by remembering those 2 above I never tried watching this one.

I feel sorry that I convinced my mom to go see the movie with me in theaters, after praising the show, which she never saw, to the heavens.

In all actuality, perhaps it would have done better had the entire movie was focused on one singular event that wasn't in the series but could still fit into the canon, such as anime movies usually do, such as Naruto or Dragonball

Bleach live action wasn’t bad. It wasn’t as good as the show, but it was decent.

The part that left the most impression on me is that scene where Aang flips over a fire nation soldier and freezes him with a wave from the ground to the head

Well, apparently the movie was such a shitstain that Nickelodeon is eager to make people forget about it by partnering with Netflix to make a serial live action instead. Shooting to start this year.

I still have nightmares about this movie being so bad. This and the movie Eragon (dragonball sucked too). Now any movie I watch that is based on a book or other media I immediately have reservations. And yeah, the scene with the entire group of earth benders working together to move a freaking pebble... I was ready to walk out of the theater.

Calling those kind of live action a trash is an actual insult to trash itself, because you could at least recycle trash but not these live action.

Somebody really needs to take a bat & use it to wake them up that some things are just not meant to be made into a live action.

i've managed to stay away from the movie, as a whole. there's been bits here and there that came up while i was lookin up things on 3d films or reviews on horrible movies, but for the most part, i've succeeded at avoiding that abomination.

i've always hated the live action adaptations, or even remakes in general. as the age old problem, they always change the script and rarely for the better. there's so many movies these days that i look at and think, "this could have been a great idea, but you just had to shoehorn in a popular character, completely change everything about them, and then made an entirely new, worse, and unrelated chapter that ruins whatever canon had already been established." if m night put that effort to writing a script based on/in the avatar world itself, rather than for a straight live action adaptation, he probably could've made something really great, especially so if he worked with the creators. the antics of the spirits would've been a great way for him to express his personally brand of "what a twit" within the avatar world, and expand an already interesting world.

    instead, we got... that.

If only I could afford a new tv, I probably would smash our tv as I'm almost trembling in mixed disappointment, anger, frustration.

How I wish they could stop ruining these things.
Everytime I hear live action now, I automatically expect it to be trashy.

If you could set your expectations at as low as you could, you probably wouldn't be disappointed... Just maybe

    M. Night is a hit or miss director who seems to miss far more often than he hits. I still wouldn't want him to retire though, I support the idea of unique directors doing their best to make unique movies. Although at this point M. Night has sort of typecast himself. "What a twist!" I still think he's capable of making good films.

I just wish I saw more original things coming out of Hollywood I guess.
