I knew it, but can't help but rant.
Arifureta anime is such a failure, both for the novel reader, manga reader and new viewer.
The 1st episode is a disaster plotwise, that the 2nd and 3rd eps can be considered okay if compared to that.

    Then the 4th eps come...

It's actionwise horrible. I can't get the desperate battle feeling that i felt in the novel, Especially in Hajime's injury. His skin is described be charred, where the bone can be seen in some place in his arm.
The trasmute animation is still bad as usual, i wonder what happen when the similarity with earth magic come...

I know i hope too much though it's already doomed from the 1st eps, but i can't help but rant and so i did.

    P.S.
Those who just here and said "you don't have the right to rant" or something similar, may their PC got short-circuitted.
Arifureta is my top favorite novel and as a fan, i hate to see the anime turn out like that

    Its a cashgrab anime adaptation.

    It happens.

I don't care that much though, dropped the novel after the 1st volume when the story goes all tsundere and shallow really fast. Not interested in the anime.

    Yeah
I dropped it as well, though almost at the end.
Almost in every action novel that starts good and thrilling, you lose that thrill at the end, just making you feel like you're reading it forcefully.
Interest fades away MC becomes overwhelmingly powerful

Anime adaption technically click baited us with those visuals. I have to admit that only the anime opening and key visuals is what I liked about this series adaptation. The light novel toned down the web novel's darkness, and the web novel went full crap when the harem peaked. Sigh.

I dont even bother to watch, since i know which studio handle it, and how it always been. Pretty rare isekai adaptation goes in right way, as the only anime novel adaptation im truly like is konosuba.

Anyway your rant is useful. Not gonna watch it even if the anime done airing. I'm also fans of this novel series (especially after story love it).

The animation ruined it for me, another one that I'm disappointed in is Maou-sama retry, The characters look weird and don't fit their age from the LN.

    it's bound to happen.
hoping a gore scene in an adaptation with that art style is just useless hope.
i bet the studio will only went all out when there's a fan service scene involving waifu bodies :) .
novel adaptation anime is always hit and miss, either suck it up or dont watch it at all so as to not ruin your imagination and excitement when reading the novel.

I knew it was going to be a failure ever since I saw the trailers, I was just hoping it won't actually turn out to be bad, and guess, it turned out to be bad, I don't get the thrill I got from reading the novel :blobunamused:

Is it a cash grab? I doubt anyone who is new is going to buy the novel/manga/dvds. If anything, it feels more like a slot filler anime. And considering its popularity it shouldn't be... but then again death march was also a slot filler so who knows...

At least Death march had decent animation. Arifureta first episode was too repulsive for me. The monsters looked like aliens from another planet not beasts from a fantasy setting.

The pace of the action scene was bad, the colors, the animation... The only good animation was the kiss, probably...
It's like throwing all the budget at the loli, and the rest is pure, unadulterated crap.

Have you seen Isekai Shokudou? Overlord? Log Horizon? Hataraku Maou? Mondaiji? Those are all pretty good novel-adapted isekai anime.

The problem i see with them is that when they do a LN anime and only give them the 12 episode threshold. They are mostly coming out bad. When they have that 24 episode threshold they always come out either decent or superb. An example being the Overlord anime. The only novel anime that i look forward to every week is "Uchi no Musume no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai".

As someone who bought all 8 volume and loved it all, i may be a little biased with the anime.

It’s good. Quite a few not in the WN after stories.
