Task: A Snow Fairy [Taken by @Zero300]
Requester: Kurtz, High Demon of the Demonic Volcano
    Quest Rank: E-rank
    Rewards: 8 Large Copper Coins
Description: A small snow fairy ended up visiting the volcano because the "big red place was cool" apparently... While we appreciated her enthusiasm, it quickly became obvious she couldn't endure the weather... At one point she fainted and we took her away from the volcano, yet she still didn't wake up since then.
We're unsure on what to do with the poor girl, could you find a way to help her wake up? Maybe bringing her to a really cold place might do the trick.

When Zinc saw the quest to wake up a snow fairy using something or someplace cold, he thought about the new skill he had recently received from Dewloren – Icy Touch. According to the information provided from the immortal beast, Icy Touch was a spell that chilled the body upon contact and slowed any bodily movements, perfect for helping the snow fairy or at least restoring some vitality to the overheated snow fairy.

Of course, if Icy Touch doesn’t work, Zinc needed a plan B. Now, in eastern medicine, there were eleven major forms of heat illness. But for fainting and even coma to occur, only one prevailed. This heat illness was dangerous…so much so that it could even cause death. According to the records, the heat toxins had already reached the snow fairy’s heart, causing delirium, extreme thirst, and other mental issues to rise.

After finding out the snow fairy’s location from one of the guild receptionists, Zinc arrived at where the snow fairy resided. Once he proved himself as an adventurer who was tasked with waking her up, the residents there allowed him in. Immediately, Zinc got to work. He walked up to the snow fairy and placed his hand over the fairy’s forehead. Using Icy Touch, Zinc cooled down the fairy.

Soon, the fairy’s eyes began to roll as she awakened. She stared groggily at Zinc and muttered. “Where am I?”

Before Zinc could answer, the fairy fainted once more. The doctor reached over and checked the fairy’s pulse. Although Icy Touch worked and woke the small fairy, however, the coldness could not completely counteract the heat within the fairy’s body. As the spell’s capabilities don’t stack, any more would not affect the fairy in any way. And so…plan B.

First and foremost, Zinc needed to dispel and clear the heat within the fairy’s body – especially the heat that’s attacking the regions around her heart. Zinc decided to use an acupuncture method to solve this issue. There were four steps to take for the process.

First, Zinc pierced the acupoint on the inside of the left arm between the biceps and the forearm. This point not only promoted the clearing of the heat but also calmed the body. Next, Zinc pierced the acupoint located at the center of the fairy’s right palm. This acupoint cooled the blood and cleared the heat from the heart.

Third, Zinc pierced the knuckles of the first three fingers of the fairy’s left hand. The doctor especially made a note that the thumb was not part of the three fingers. The three needles piercing the three knuckles, helped expel wind and promote blood circulation. And lastly, the tips of all ten fingers were pierced in order to let blood flow out. The blood acted as a medium for which the heat escaped from the fairy’s body.

With this, the snow fairy reawakened. Though she was feeling under the weather, Zinc prescribed her some blood nourishing foods and medicine to take during the rest of her trip. Next, Zinc pierced a needle on the top of the fairy’s left forearm, near her wrist. This acupoint doesn’t help clear up heat, but instead, it helped to clear the fairy’s mind in order to prevent delirium from setting in.

Lastly, Zinc pierced the acupoint on the outside of the left arm between the biceps and the forearm. This process helped detoxify any heat poison left in the fairy’s system. Once the task was completed, Zinc headed back to the guild to submit his report.

Tasked: The Search For A Pear Tree [Available]

    Requester: Margatroid, Puppetter

    Quest Rank: E-rank

    Rewards: 9 Large Copper Coins

Description: On the first day of christmas, my goddess gave to me, a French Doll in a Pear Tree.

Or so she said, she didn't say which pear tree though, and like... I have been searching for quite some time for this tree and yet I just found a bunch of normal pear trees, so uhn... Some help please? The goddess is a real prankster, but she would have told me through her shrine maiden if it was a prank already... I mean, it's been over half an year!

Lute limped in and handed his report to Aria.
Lute landed outside his client's house. Margatroid was outside on a raised platform with her puppet theater setup and several empty chairs.

"And so nightingale sang to the emperor one last time. He was finally at peace." Margatroid looked up from her performance. The ornate paddles in her hands shook slightly as the puppets started packing the stage behind her. "Did you like my show?" She asked.

"I just saw the ending but it looked fun. Are you

Margatriod? I'm Lute. I'm here for the quest you posted."

"Oh good! I want sure if anyone would pick up my quest. Come inside!" She invited as she and her puppets guided Lute to her small dining room. After serving six cups of lavender tea, 4 of which were for the seated dolls, she grabbed a map and sat down. "Do you know what a French doll looks like?"

    "Kind of. Not really."

Margatroid moved her stringless paddle and a blond haired porcelain doll climbed up on the table. "The doll should looks like this. So far I've looked in the south valley and the woodlands here and here" as she pointed to areas of the map. "What I want you to do is fly around the foothills and cliff and if any of the pear trees, or pair of trees, her shrine maiden refused to clarify, has a French Do...*Wham! Wham!*

The two of them looked at the kitchen where the cupboard was swinging open. "Excuse me a moment" Margatriod said as she grabbed the teapot and went to the cupboard. Grabbing a cup she then filled it with tea, set on the counter, then opened a drawer. Taking out some myrrh incense and some matches she lit it.

At the risk of being rude Lute's curiosity asked wide eyed "What are you doing?"

"Getting Agatha some tea." She said as she reseated herself like it was the most obvious thing.

    "And she is…?"

"One of my roommates and reasons why this place is so cheap. Now as I was saying if you find the doll don't handle it directly. It may be cursed. If you are unable to retrieve it I want to escort me to where you found. Any questions?"

"Umm… no…." Stuttered Lute before picking himself up and proudly said "I'll be done before you can say "Already?!""

-Three days, two bee stings and four bird attacks later-

Stupid Magpies and thier swooping season Lute thought as he checked the back of his neck for blood. His blue wings ached from constant use and he still hadn't found the doll. Screw it. It was noon. He was hungry. Lets get some apple pie he thought as he took flight towards the city.

30 minutes later near the main road Lute spotted Margatroid and her puppets hauling her mobile theater. Changing his flight path Lute headed toward the puppeteer. Movement near the trees on the main road caught his attention. All he saw was a tree a slightly lighter green than the other trees. Looking closer it looked like...A pear tree! Excited Lute flew in closer and... Yes! There nestled securely in it's branches was a weathered brown haired doll! He dived after the doll. The tree moved like the earth was water, surprising Lute and hit him with one Its branches.

Lute crashed like helicopter, whirling towards the ground. The tree followed up with branch that elongated like whip and cracked it at him. Countering with a sound like a gust of wind he cast an actual gust spell to shove himself out of the way. The battle began.

He managed to fire off a few ice arrows but they only manage to stick to the thick bark like a porcupine quill. The lighting arc spell wasn't any better. Seeing that nothing was working he decided to withdraw and fly off. In the middle of the escape one of the vines wrapped around his foot and slammed him back down on the ground.

The tree raised its branches as they started to weave themselves into a massive mace. In that weave a small corn husk doll climbed up the branches and slipped in as the tree was just about to launch its attack. The doll exploded causing the tree to overdraw its mace and fall off to the side.

"Lute, get out!" Margatriod shouted. He scrambled out of the way and successfully into the air. Margatriod struck out one of her paddles, launching a ghostly set strings that attached themselves to the doll. The doll jerked once then jumped out of the tree. Turning around the tree saw her cup her free hand and whisper "Flawed shadow puppet: horse." A small black pony shaped itself from the ground out of the shadow of her hand.

She caught the doll that had jumped out of the tree and vaulted herself onto pony. Above Lute saw them head toward the main road. Surprisingly the tree did not follow and instead, after staring at Margatriod's direction, simply glided away like nothing important happened.

Lute followed her for a minute before the pony sank back into Margatriod's shadow. As Lute fluttered down to hunched over woman. Her hand over her head and the doll tucked under her arm. "The tree ran the other way. We should be safe….Margatroid you ok?" Lute worriedly asked.

"Just out of mana. Shadow puppets take a lot of mana if you try to take shortcuts with the casting and the puppet usually turns in to a smaller version of what you were shaping." Catching her breath she fixed her posture and took out the ragged doll from her arm. Her eyes widen in shock.

"That the doll you wanted right?"

She started to tear up. "Yes. It my sister's old doll. She was eight when she lost it. I thought I lost everything from my sister. So this is the goddess gift to me." She started to sniffle, then laugh.

    "What's funny?" Lute asked.

"The goddess had a Trent stalk me for six months just for a holiday gift. And now that I think about it there places where I was just staring straight at the tree and still missed the doll. It's unbelievable!" She laughed.

Lute let her laugh for a few minutes as he took roll call for all of the bruises, cuts and pain on his body. He then asked "You want to get some apple pie? I'm starving."
Rubbing his arm he asked "Do know where I can get some non-magical healing? I can't afford the good stuff right now and I really hurt."

You surely went through a lot to find that doll, but I'm glad you could do it, the requester certainly seemed delighted to have this quest cleared~

The reward will be of 9 Large Copper Coins and 4 Guild Points, great job~

As for healing, the priestesses in the church of Ophelia should have some bandages and medicinal herbs to offer you at the very least, it should help with the process.

Take care of yourself and don't overdo it, alright?

((This was a pretty fun read! I hope you had fun writing it! ^^)/

Sorry for taking this long to appraise it! >.<))

Task: I have a Key Mace [Taken by @kyoshijiro]
    Requester: Forgren, Orc Warrior
    Quest Rank: E-rank
    Rewards: 7 Large Copper Coins
Description: There is a mace in my family, that is supposed to be the key to unlock a chest we've had around since forever... Of course I tried bashing the chest as hard as I could with the "key", but got no success there, the chest is still intact.
This mystery has plagued my family for 3 generations now, please help us open the chest.

Drakensji had to walk up the mountain to reach the Orc settlement. Due to lack of stamina he almost passed out on the way but he somehow made it to the village.

He was almost caught and imprisoned as a suspicious individual but after explaining and showing his guild tag they reluctantly let him go, how scary.
He asked for directions to Forgren's house, and after getting led in the wrong direction three times he finally managed to guess which one was his house, the skulls and furs on the hut might have made it obvious but Forgren wasn't the only Orc in this village.

After almost getting his head bashed in by the mace mentioned in the quest, Drakensji was brought to the chest in question.

It looked like a regular chest, covered in wood and with metal reinforcement, but it did not have any lock.
Upon closer inspection it would be revealed that although it seemed to be made of wood it was actually metallic, and seemed to be the same material regardless of the "wooden" or reinforced parts. Also there was no seam between the lid and the box of the chest, which was somewhat concerning.

Forgren meanwhile went on a rant of what he had tried to do to open it, hitting it with the mace until it sunk into the ground, throwing it down from the top of the mountain and falling hundreds of meters, trying to melt it down in the forge, trying to chisel it open, not even a scratch.
Drakensji tried to burn it with his magical flame just to confirm, and indeed it didn't even warm up.

After this he was shown the mace that was supposed to be the "key".
Drakensji had expected that the mace would fit into a special groove that could be turned and that the orc was too stupid to figure it out but, instead he saw that between the spikey corners of the mace and along it's handle there were inscriptions in dwarven runes, written were the instructions on how to open the chest (Drakensji knew Dwarven as well as Primordial *OOC :whatever is the equivalent in this world*) . It was apparrently a complex dwarven puzzle box. By pressing on certain bumps and sections of the chest in a specific order it could be unlocked.

Instead of opening by swinging the lid open like one would expect from the appearance of the chest, the lid opened up in two sections that slid sideways halfway, leaving a section of the chest open.
Inside was nothing but a scroll.
Drakensji picked it up gingerly, but it did not seem to be magical.

At Forgern's behest, he unknotted the string holding the scroll closed and unfurled it.
Nothing special happened, and Drakensji read what was written, again in dwarven runes. For Forgern's understanding he read aloud, though perhaps that was a mistake.

"Congratulations to whomever managed to find this message hidden in my special OrcTease chest! I had made this chest specifically to drive Forgal (Forgren's ancestor) mad! That idiot wouldn't know how to solve a puzzle even if it were spelled out for him! Of course in order to avoid him just breaking the chest open I made it indestructible!"

After listening to this letter Forgren was understandably pissed, and Drakensji huddled in a corner as the Orc warrior laid havoc, trying uselessly to tear the chest to pieces, at least the letter was destructible.
At this spectacle Drakensji could somewhat understand why the dwarf decided to piss off an Orc, it was an impressive sight, but Drakensji also vowed to never try and anger an Orc.

After Forgren calmed down he marked the quest complete for Drakensji, and gave the chest to him, he didn't want to ever see it again.

Once Drakensji took the chest he realized a horrible fact... The chest was very heavy.
With a trembling hand Drakensji handed his report to the receptionist, and then collapsed over the chest he had dragged all the way here.
    @AliceShiki

If you are curious about how he brought the chest all the way from the mountain to the guild hall: he dropped the chest off the mountain, he had to search for it but it saved time compared to dragging it, he asked a passing wagon to help on the road, and dragged it the rest of the way.
Many times he had struggled with the decision to just abandon the chest on the side of the road, but it was an INDESTRUCTIBLE chest, so in the end, he forced himself to bring it along. Hopefully after this his strength and stamina would improve

    Welcome back Draken-san~

And dear gods, just who makes a prank on someone and decides to keep the prank alive for 3 generations? That dwarf must have been a believer of Ton-sama...

Well, good job handling it, I wonder what did he even do to make the chest basically indestructible though... Oh well, you'll have plenty of time to handle it I guess.

Your reward will be of 7 Large Copper Coins and 4 Guild Points.

    Take care now~

((Please try avoiding using absolutes next time in stories okay? Like... Indestructible is generally bad... >.>

Just remember we're not Siths! Only Siths deal in absolutes! xD

*coughs* Seriously speaking, it's more about how if you try imagining what it would take to make something indestructible, it would either be some absurdly crazy powerful enchantment or a super mythical legendary material or the like... Which is generally something we prefer avoiding dealing with. This generally applies to almost all absolutes, hence the "we're not Siths thingy~"

It's fine this time around though, but please avoid it in future stories~

PS: Nagrand (the town the guild is in) is mostly an Orc Town btw, figured I should say that~
PPS: No clue what you mean with Primordial language tbh... >.>))

It is indestructible for an orc and a beginner mage, doesn't mean it is actually indestructible, is what i i thought as preparation in case it was a problem.
I considered the fact that an indestructible object could be useful in many ways but i decided that the chest should be too heavy to be practical (also as a thief-proof measure) and if it was actually practical i had planned on the orc using it as a shield or smth.
Also the dwarf probably didn't expect the prank to last so long.

Didn't know that but fortunately i didn't say anything too contrary.
The primordial tongue, in dnd, is the language elementals use, which i figured were the same thing as the Elder Scrolls Atronach. Elementals are sometimes considered the same as fairies/spirits, you tell me what the lore is here

    Task: Lily of the Valley
    Requester: Mira, Seamstress.
    Quest Rank: E-rank
    Rewards: 9 Large Copper Coins
Description: When I was young, I had a friend that played with me all the time, we were very close, you know?
But she had one fatal flaw... She really loved a flower field near our village... A field filled with deadly poisonous flowers... She loved looking at it, and wanted to get as close as she could. Of course we tried discouraging her, but she kept going anyways... Until one day, she didn't return.
Ever since that day, each year I have left a lily near the field in the day of her death, as a form of showing I didn't forget... Old age is catching up to me though, and the area that was once safe is now being quite hazardous for my health... Could you please leave the lily there for me?
Just... Be careful of the poison of the valley... And... If you see a girl in a red dress there, tell her I said hi. I often saw her in that field after my friend's death, I wonder how she could endure the poison... I suppose it doesn't matter anymore...

After receiving the quest, Zinc quickly made some preparations. In addition to some basic herbs and his medicine making kit, the young doctor also decided to bring along Arsenic who may prove helpful in dispelling the poison that may have permeated the air around the flower field. Once he finished preparing, Zinc headed out towards the village with the lily in hand.

Halfway to the village, Zinc stopped by some trees and picked up a few broken or fallen branches. Piling up the branches, the doctor quickly lit up a fire. Afterwards, Zinc waited by the fire until it burned itself out. Without more wood added into the fire, the fire soon died out, leaving behind some wood charcoal.

Zinc waited for an hour or two so that the fire pit had cooled down. Then, he scooped up the wood charcoal and stored them in his bag. Although it wasn’t very effective, wood charcoal was still a good alternative for absorbing poison and preventing it from spreading. Zinc might not worry about most of the poison he would encounter with the help of Arsenic, however, if he was to accidentally ingest some of the pollen, then that would be disastrous without the wood charcoal.

Once the wood charcoal was properly stored in his bag, Zinc continued towards the village. Some distance away from the village, Zinc could catch the first glimpses of the field in question. It was a blanket of red. The flowers didn’t look particularly enticing but then again, the doctor didn’t have much interest or love for flowers and their appearances. The only reason he would ever look at a flower would be whether the flower could be used as a medicinal herb or poison.

Diverging his path, Zinc headed straight for the flower field. The flowers were actually oleanders! The strange thing about it was that oleanders grew on shrubs, yet these ones directly grew on the ground. Could it be a mutation of some sort?

Upon reaching near the edge, Arsenic suddenly hissed and squirmed in his breast pocket. Something was up! There must be some sort of poison in the vicinity, maybe poisonous pollen or gas. Zinc quickly took out some dried wood charcoal and mixed it with some water. In a few gulps, he downed the black and gritty mixture. The mixture served as a sponge that could effectively absorb any poison that may have entered his body.

Zinc reached into his pockets and pulled out Arsenic. He laid the centipede on the ground and let him wander about as he consumed the poison in the area. Meanwhile, Zinc reached into his bag and pulled out the lily. He bent down on one knee and placed the lily at the edge of the red flowers. Then, with expert hands, he began crawling deeper into the flower field and gathered some of the oleanders to research and perhaps develop some antidotes from.

Just as he was about to get up, he heard a sound. It was some sort of singing…a girl’s voice! Zinc looked up and saw a girl in her mid-twenties strolling and sometimes dancing in the field of oleanders. The girl wore a red dress of the same color as the oleanders. Could this be the mysterious girl Mira was talking about? Maybe it was because of Arsenic clearing away the poison, but Zinc was able to see the features of the girl rather clearly. She had somewhat pointy ears, which indicated that she was not human.

Zinc tried calling out to her, but he suddenly began to feel nauseous. His legs began to lose strength as he fell back on one knee. His head started hurting as well. Zinc quickly called Arsenic to his side while he checked his pulse. Was he poisoned? Impossible! With Arsenic close by and the charcoal mix still in his stomach, he should be fine from a simple oleander poison. Unless it wasn’t from the oleanders. He had only started suffering from such symptoms when the girl appeared…how did she appear?

When Zinc first arrived at the edge of the flower field, he didn’t see anyone in the field or near the field. But in just a few minutes after, this strange girl appeared out of nowhere. No! She didn’t appear out of nowhere…she must have been here the whole time! Going by this logic, the girl in the red dress must be this flower field’s spirit!

Zinc backed away from the field and stumbled on something. He looked at his feet and saw a skull…a human skull! Zinc immediately scrambled out of the flower field and glanced back at the girl. She was staring at him, laughing melodically. Truly a creepy and demonic sight! The doctor immediately turned to leave. He needed to report this to the guild. The girl in the red dress was most likely the spirit of the flower field. She would lure travelers and tourists into the field where the poison would then kill them. Their bodies would be used as fertilizer to nourish the field. Truly a horrifying thought! This probably happened to the seamstress’s childhood friend as well.

But then, why did Mira not see the girl even though she was with her friend? Could this all be a hallucination of sorts that only targets one person? Or could it be a combination of both spirit and hallucination? Zinc didn’t know for sure and he was ill prepared to find out. He should just leave this for some other adventurer or adventurers to take care of.

Soon, the doctor returned to the guild. He reported his accomplishments as well as his findings. He hoped to issue a quest as well indicating the importance of getting rid of the spirit. In addition, he hoped that the next group to take on the quest would bring back as many oleanders as they can.
    Girl in Red Dress:
    • Mid-twenties appearance-wise; could change depending on the viewer.
    • Pointy ears like half-elves
    • Fiery red hair and red eyes with pale complexion.
    • Melodic voice that could draw one in if he or she isn't careful
    • Motions of hands and body that could hypnotize people if they're not careful
    • Poisonous gas or pollen that emit from the girl which causes nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, lack of strength, weakness in legs, dizziness, and heart failure. The poison effects depend on how close you are to the girl.

May's Experience finally kicked in when she finally set foot in the 'wilderness', making sure not to make sound, and to try and reduce anything that screamed that she was there as much as possible, she even smeared some mud on herself to make sure that her smell won't be caught by a large predator, or even a pack of predators!

As may traveled down the animal path she found, she wondered, maybe that person was smoking something? Rainbows were not commonly created by monsters afterall, it was too eye-catching, and other predators would be able to catch up and eat them. There's still a chance that there might be a real life unicorn!

Being very optimistic May continued her very fun journey, making sure to avoid trouble to save up her stamina in case of an emergency fight! Anyway nearing the location that the alchemist was said to have spotted the unicorn may started searching far and wide, searching for the entire day, sleeping, then searching the entire day affer that but could find no trace of the unicorn.

Already partially giving up may felt like it was becoming a waste of time, but before she started leaving she looked in the sky, she saw something that made her open her eyes and mouth open in shock!

It was a flying horned horse spraying piss out behind itself! that must be the rainbow the alchemist was talking about! She knew what rainbows were obviously, they always were present when the sun and rain were occuring concurrently!

Task: The Impregnable! The Unrivaled! The Strongest! [Available]
Requester: Mark, Magic Researcher of Fort Alduin
    Quest Rank: E-rank
    Rewards: 10 Large Copper Coins
Description: I recently finished crafting the best golem in the world! Nothing can penetrate his defense! He is fast! He is strong! He is invincible!!!
Or so I hope, anyone wanna be a spare buddy for my golem? The soldiers are kinda busy in an unusually big skirmish with Empire forces, and I'd like to see it in action at least once before putting it in actual battle.

    Here it Aria.
    @AliceShiki
"You'll still sign of even if I just fly and shoot magic at it?"

"Yes, my team and I need all of the data we can get. In fact you are perfect for the job. You have a set of skills that we have yet to test. Namely flying. We have Nadeen nearby should you be injured."

"Ok! So I just go over there and wait for the person watching this match scream to start?"

"Yes!" Mark said brilliantly. Lute walked over top his spot and looked at the golem. It was made of bronze with an odd coral color etched in the ruin work.

"AND FIGHT!" Lute took off immediately using his gust spell to speed up the flight. Thirty feet up in the air he began casting his lighting arc spell. The armored golem hadn't even movedyet. It stared at him and raised it's first.

Too easy Lute thought just as he finished his spell. A springing noise was all he heard before he was met with an armored first in face. He dropped like a sack of potatoes. A few minutes later he was met with a woman's face. "Mark, he's up."

    "What happened?" Lute slurred.

" You were hit by progress. More specifically you were hit by the Cricket's spring loaded fist."

    "Cricket?"

"The golem. It the name of this series of golem. Ready for round 2?"

5 minutes later the referee screamed and Lute took off into the air. This time he flew higher and held off on casting. Again the golem just stared at Lute and stared too raise it's arm. Nervous and still aching from a fist in the face he flew even father up this time.

Arm in place the golem bent it knees then its legs extended revealing coral springs etched in more times as it jumped 30 ft in the air and launched an other spring loss punch. Panic Lute made a magic assisted dodge as the bronze arm extended past Lute's then retracted back to its owner. It landed with a heavy thump.

After a few rounds of jumping and chasing Lute saw his opportunity. He dodged a punch and as the golem fell back to the ground he sent out a lighting arc. As the golem landed the arc electrifying his opponent and…. doing nothing. Lute briefly thinking about trying to melt his enemy electricity but he needed a stronger lighting spell for that.

One shot he thought. One good shot. Using the rest of his mana he started his ice spell, gathering the fractal energy between his two palms and staring at the golem. Predictably the golem jumped and shot out its arm. Dodging by a hair Lute finished his spell as the golem landed and shot a basketball size piece of hail just as it jumped again. The resulting collision shattered the spell slowing the golem's jump causing the fist to fire wildly. When it landed it had a decent dent in the head but continues with its onslaught.

"I give up!" Lute shouted as he glided to the ground. Mark powered down the golem as it became unnaturally still. Walking up to the golem with his tool box he started taking notes on the damage. "Well good news for me and bad news for you. Lute looked at Mark puzzled. " You managed to damage the cricket but the damage is superficial. We will have it fixed by sundown. Hand over your paper so I can sign it. My request is complete."

"Complete? Mark there are still four golems to go."

Surprised Mark looked up at at the well dressed military man. He looked disheveled. Like he had been drinking the night. " General! I didn't expect to see you this morning. Lovely weather this morning. Did you know the Mama Ganoosh's bakery has started selling their famous blood pudding again! Its to die for general! You and I should go down and"

"Mark you said you have 5 golem cores left. Where are they?"

Mark bit his lower lip. "Your looking at them."

    "Explain" the general growled.

"In order to get the springs in the golem to work correctly each time we had to use a core for each spring system. One in each arm, one in each leg and one command core in the chest." The general face exploded in slow motion. First in surprise then in a cold anger.

"Mark, now that I am looking at the golem, tell me is that copper, gold and silver alloy corinthian bronze?"

"Yes.it was the best material we could use for the springs."

"Your accountant is fired. Why don't you let that bird go and come with me to grandma Ganoosh's bakery. We have a VERY important talk about going two years over budget."
