What's with Chinese novel jewelry companies and their stupid obsession with jade? Why do they feel like if there's no jade they will be bankrupt. It's not like there aren't any other precious stones/metals in china, they can use gold/silver/platinum + ruby/diamond/sapphire/etc.

    Here u go.

The importance of Jade stone in Chinese culture is reflected in its status as a symbol of goodness, preciousness and beauty. To the Chinese, jade stone is also the embodiment of the Confucian virtues of courage, wisdom, modesty, justice and compassion.

It has a lot of cultural significance and belief associated with it; hence, the high status. It has been held in high esteem by the Chinese for ages.

No, what I mean is in the novels why do they need to cling to jade when they are no stocks of it? When there are plentiful of alternatives. Why result to bankruptcy? People in the real world with proper brains will not do that, they will find alternatives until they find new sources of jade or better yet diversify their stock and not just jade.

Probably just the author being a terrible author in general.
Novels that have this trope generally are run of the mill anyway.

So basically they think jade is Chinese and above everyone else like the usual overdone nationalistic novels.

Probably because Jade is too profitable compared to other precious stones. Why invest in something that makes a little money when you can invest in something that makes a lot. The cultural need for jade it's so great that other stones won't do unless you want to embarrass yourself.
It would be like trying to convince people that you shouldn't buy a diamond wedding ring in western culture. For most people there has to be a diamond in that ring some where or you're just a cheap or poor asshole.

There are shops only wanting to focus on selling certain products, and become the market leader of that particular product.
Essentially they don't want to be the jewelry supermarket where you can come in to buy gold, diamonds, or other precious stones.
if it is still hard to understand. Picture this, if meat shop running out of raw meat, are you going to tell them to start selling fruits or vegetables instead?

It is like asking why women get proposed to with a diamond ring instead of a nuclear bomb that is much valuable

Maybe it will be more useful if you add the related novel? I have read several novel with previous jade item, but haven't read one where they went bankrupt over jade yet.

    Tl;dr. More context, please
