Just in case it was still confusing for you and other people... He does recover his martial arts. In fact, the act of self-destructing is exactly the stimulus needed for him to achieve the full potential of the secret technique he previously picked up. Although he has destroyed his martial arts foundation, he then builds a new and even better one at lightning speed. By the end of the novel, he's thoroughly kicking ass and taking names lol. --------- Here's some spoilers for the ending btw in case no one's said it yet: Spoiler: Climax/Ending! The novel's final boss is the barbarian enemy that Shen Qiao's shifu Qi Fengge drove back 20 years ago, the martial arts master Hulugu that was thought to have already died. No one is any match for him when he shows up to re-invade the Central Plains. Shen Qiao is the one who bravely goes forward to duel him, following the footsteps of his own deceased shifu. Unfortunately, despite putting up the best fight so far, he's still no match for this OP dude. However, Yan Wushi has grown genuinely fond of Shen Qiao over all this time, and is finally willing to acknowledge Shen Qiao's goodness. He is willing to take on this final boss, both to prove himself as the strongest martial arts master in the world and also to help Shen Qiao's cause. The climax/finale of the novel is Yan Wushi battling Hulugu on the Half-Step Peak where the story began. He barely scrapes out a victory against the final boss, at the cost of getting mortally wounded himself. Shen Qiao miraculously leaps (well he's basically flying lol) the gap between the two peaks and saves Yan Wushi's life, and they live happily ever after~ Well, as happily as a Dere-Tsun Shen Qiao managing Mount Xuandu can live with a teasing Yan Wushi managing his own demonic sect lol. Again, Shen Qiao never openly acknowledges his feelings for Yan Wushi in the main story. Yan Wushi does a sneaky confession to him right before the final battle. Shen Qiao was drunk at that time, and he still barely managed out a blush and a "I don't want you to die" as a reply lol. In the extras they do get more intimate (well more like Yan Wushi harassing him in broad daylight lol). Yan Wushi really isn't psychologically normal--in his own words, he loves Shen Qiao but that love takes the form of bullying/teasing our poor MC, to the point where he's probably the only person in the world Shen Qiao will snap angrily at lol. I generally enjoy their dynamic though, since Yan Wushi really does bring out the humanity in Shen Qiao--yes, annoyance and frustration count as human feelings here lol.
The novel is yet to be completely translated but if you want the raws ,well here they are https://ck101.com/thread-3482377-1-1.html
Can I ask, who is MC and ML? Readingthis thread page 1-2 is major confusing, coz I dont know who is who. So, reading from NU summary, I presume : MC = Yan Wu SHin = gong? ML = Shen QIan = shou? correct?
and @CawCawBird Really? Coz the first one to narrate in the nu summary is Yan WuShi, I thought the MC is him. It should be, imo.
Got it. Thanx Yeah,t he summary is misleading, hence the confusion I was having when reding this spoiler pages.
GUYS GUYS AUDIO DRAMA FOR QIANQIU IN AUGUST 3??!! (cmiiw) link: https://www.missevan.com/mdrama/drama/22906 omg YW looks so evil
!!! Awesome! Hopefully some kind soul will do some subtitles like with the audio drama for MDZS. (Random side note: I feel kind of relieved that SQ doesn't look too off from this picture on the fanart I did for him OTL)
Oooh, I thought I had posted it in the thread some time - guess I just intended to do it and then forgot X'D This one here. (IG link for anyone without tumblr)
I think this is one of those stories I'll wait until it's completely translated before I read. I have a thing about unrepentant b*stard MLs (characters in general) in stories, and especially in bl. At least this guy is just being himself instead of the issue being swept over like it never happened, I don't like that. No matter how great their relationship, I might still feel like hitting this guy and sitting the MC down for a talk about his choices. Thanks, though, because of the spoilers I might actually read this one to the end.
The audio drama is soooo goooood I cannot find any flaw in it. Everything is perfect. Anyone who can understand Chinese should give it a try, and the two voice actors acting SQ and YWS are two of my favorite voice actors.
