It seems the ‘ger’ trope, that is, the Chinese version of ’males who can get pregnant’ (like the Western version that is the Omegaverse trope), is pretty well known. I’ve read it mentioned several times in various different BL novels already. However, I’ve yet to come across a story with that specific setting. Can anyone point me to them? PS. World-hopping novels don’t count. PPS. No actual male-pregnancy is required. If it has it - great! If it doesn’t? I’d still like to see it.
Only one I can think of is chapter 5 of Quickly wear the Face Of the Devil which you can find archived Oh yeah forgot about this one
I’ve read that. It’s good, but still a world-hopping novel. I want one that has the ger thing from beginning to end. I’ll definitely try it! Alternative anatomy. If it’s explained at all, it’s usually via a separate canal just past the chrysanthemum that opens when aroused. I read a really good romance story once, it talked about how the omegas were a result of the apocalypse where Lucifer messed with human genes to further temptation and sin, and how male omegas lacked certain inborn safety measures because they weren’t originally meant to bear children, and how female alphas suffered because they could not sire children. Raised a lot of good points about equality, equity and the importance of a person’s rights as the main couple struggles to make the world better for each other. First omegaverse I’d ever read. I’ve like the trope ever since.
“The Demon Commander’s Runaway Consort” is a pretty good ger series. It’s an original on Wattpad with plenty of fan art on Pinterest. Excepting the awkward first chapter, I loved the rest. Here’s the synopsis: Heng Ming was just your average salary man from the 21st century who unfortunately died from falling down the stairs, yes ironic isn't it. He happens to transmigrate into his favourite bl novel only to realise he’s in the body of a minor character who was beaten to death. If that's not shocking enough he somehow gave birth to a son and is unloved by his husband. Not accepting his fate, he decided to run far away with his beloved child and loyal servant to live a simple life... but would that simple life really last forever? Seriously, check it out.
Er...if you’d like to think so, sure. I don’t really agree, since it’s called ‘male pregnancy’ for a reason, but whatever floats your boat, I guess?
But if they try to explain it with "another orfice that is coincidentally in the genital area" and the stories have Dom/sub relationships, isn't it just futa with no breasts that society considers male due to having male genitals? (In the real world, we call them transexuals)
(In the real world, futas and omegas do not exist) Trans are trans because their mind does not fit their original body. These people consider themselves men, and are in a body that is pretty much (aside from the womb, which is internal) pure male, so... Furthermore, I’m quite sure that not only do futas consider themselves female, they still have their lady parts down there despite the...addition. Gers and omegas do not have that. As I said, their orifice exists past their chrysanthemums. (AKA, no extra female genitals. At all.) Also? Dom/sub relationships are not limited to being only between a male and female. And the male is certainly not always the dom. Should we be discussing this here? How about another thread in the general discussions section if you want to continue this? Remember to @ me if you do, or I won’t know to respond.
There's "Wife, Please Stop Running Away!" that you can find on either scribblehub or wattpad. Wattpad is only ahead by 1 chapter though (the author updates on wattpad first before posting chapters up on scribblehub).
I might be wrong about that one... https://www.novelupdates.com/series/bringing-a-son-to-marry-a-giant/
Thanks for answering and letting me understand how the whole "ger" trope works, at least in most novels that use the trope. I'll try to read through one to better understand how the trope would work, since Futas are closer associated to female while Omegas are closer associated to guys. Guess I should have a basic understanding before making assumptions .
