I'm curious how your music taste changed or was added to over time. My wild ride looks something like this : rock -> linkin park -> power metal -> symphonic metal -> melodic death metal -> heavy metal -> metalcore -> anime openings ->alternative rock&metal - power metal(I had enough of it) -> 80's -> nightcore -> drum and bass -> EDM -> electro - EDM(enough is enough) -> new retro wave -> itali disco -> eurobeat That's about it I think, simple
Rock - Still Rock but made from my country- HeavyMetal - Kpop - Jpop/Jrock Never liked anything from american hiphop/pop songs.
grew up with classic, then animusic>jrock metal, jazz, then whatever except the totally avant garde stuff like noise thing. that's not music. also anything too repetitive... like most pop songs that has only 3 chords or something and i don't care much of the lyrics. it can mean whatever. so any language is welcome~
My music taste swing and hiss every now and then. It is either Linked Horizon BS or german death metal or songs like Fields of Hope. Like, in a short period of time.
My taste had been basically forcefully shaped this way. Since I've been learning the violin since I was a child, the only music I listened to were the classical pieces that I was learning, then I actually got into a few composers and classical genres outside from that...and after learning music theory a lot ended up changing about how I looked at music. My music tastes changed a LOT over the years...but all of it still remain in the classical music category from other people's point of view so it's frustrating to me how I can't talk about it with other people. Everybody just sees it as classical music, but there's just so much more to it. Anyway, I've slowly started to come out of my cocoon of classical music and try other modern type music...but the problem is, at most I just like a few verses or measures from some of the better pieces of modern music. I'm not really suited for this type of music....also, I still only pay the most focus to music that I play or am learning to play. Only then do I end up seeing each individual notes and understanding them. Modern music is...often super boring to play. Not saying it's because it's bad, but because it's most of the time vocals, and vocals parts on a violin is basically the easiest thing in the world...at least for someone who knows how to play the violin.
justin bieber -> Taylor swift/Carly Rae -> Katy Perry -> anime idol songs -> anisong -> vocaloid -> nico nico douga covers -> original songs by NND cover singers it was a smooth and quick transition to japan. but recently has been listening to a few violins and band covers of anime songs.
Classic -> jazz (Lui Armstrong) -> waltz (Straus) -> Mozart -> Gaming orchestra music (heroes of m&m 3 and 4) ║ me ║ Modern-> dream trance (Robert Miles) - > r&b -> trance -> Love rock (H.I.M) -> alternative rock/hard rock/pop rock (Aerosmith, Roling Stones, Nirvana) - > psytrance -> Happy hardcore + j-core + Hardbass + UK Hardcore (Rhythmics) ╚ drum & bass + swing& bass Something like this represent my music taste in overall
Sounds like you know where to go next young 'un. Don't be wilfully ignorant. You could try symphony metal and the likes. Here's some links
Try to create it =) It is like a new world with so many synthesizers, musical applications for processing sound and voice, experiments with creating new sounds, selecting a rhythm, creating a new genre of music, searching for new instruments. Sometimes i think it just keep progressing to eternity
happy hardcore->nightcore->happy hardcore->dubstep->melodic dubstep->deathstep->other random obscure electronic music genres->rock->more rock->everything previously listed+vocaloid stuff
