    Hey everyone,

Meteor Strike Media is looking to bring Korean web-novels to the English market, and we need YOUR help! We are currently planning to expand our team of English Rewriters, so that we can ensure all of our readers enjoy novels of the highest possible quality. Meteor Strike Media is a new face on the translation scene, but our company has already contracted/is negotiating with multiple Korean authors/publishers. If you want to be a part of this new wave of Licensed Korean Translations, then now is the time to hop aboard.

What we're looking for in Rewriters:
    • Comprehensive understanding of the English language. I'm sorry, but if English isn't your strong suit then this position is not for you.
    • Creativity. Rather than simply editing chapters for grammatical errors, you should be improving the text. This does not mean you should disregard the original translation. We want our novels to be localized/westernized so that they are enjoyable. Reading shouldn't be a chore.
    • Able to work well with others. If chosen, you will be working alongside many members of our staff. This isn't some lone wolf mission.
    • Able to consistently meet set deadlines. As stated in the title this is a paid position. While the number of chapters you work on can be discussed, you must be able to meet whatever quota is agreed upon. If some emergencies come up that make you unable to, that is fine. Accidents and unforeseen events happen to everyone. What we don't want is someone that is never meeting deadlines.
    • You must be 18+ to apply. You may also be required to provide us with additional PII.
    • Having prior experience is great! If you would like to tell us about yourself in more detail, please do so on the last page of the test.

We have a two stage test for Rewriter applicants. The first stage will gauge your general skills. Good luck to anyone who tries out! We're rooting for you:blobsmilehappy:

I'm not great at English so I'm not applying but I'm here to say I support your cause. Paying for work is absolutely necessary unlike other translation groups asking for free labor. Thank you.

oh, a startup with website written in c#, peculiar choice i must say. Wont it be difficult in the future when you are trying to expand the website, considering not a lot are picking up c# as their language?

Also can i know what the frontend framework are you guys planning on using? like, react, vue, angular, etc..

How about swear words in your translations?
In my opinion novels like Solo Leveling gain a lot by using urban language.
That's, of course, if the novel is aimed at older readers.

I have no issue with swearing in our novels, as long as it makes sense and fits the scene/character. I usually leave it up to the translator to decide where and when someone is swearing, and work with them from there.

The position appeals to me, and I can do it, but I have a couple of questions:
    - It looks like this position is a remote/work from home type job. Is it?
    - When would we be expected to start?
    - What is the expected pay per hour/characters/edited document, and how many chapters would we take on a week? I know you mentioned this could be discussed, but I'm sure you have expectations. How long would each chapter be? (This doesn't meet NU rules, so you can DM me if you like :) )
    - What is the genre of novels that you generally work on?
