Pick up another story in the mean time, makes the wait seem like nothing. A lot of good stuff out there that's either complete or ongoing with a lot of backlog to go through.
Also ... I would like to shamelessly recomend to all of you a chinese cultivation novel (wuxia, xanxia or whatever), that i really like. It is already finnished, it has long chapters, the MC has almost no love interests and the one he does have is debatable at best. MC starts as a crafter/farmer and his weak to strong arc spans the entire novel. The title is World of cultivation. https://www.novelupdates.com/series/world-of-cultivation/
This was my favorite cultivation novel ever during its first 2/3 of the story. Then it went from 6 stars to 4 stars when it introduced that thing the mc could do that then everybody could do and then the story was much too short. This was the type of novel that I'd loved to see being 2000 + chapters if it remained how it was. This mc was the best though.
For me, it's not only that it's hard to keep up the quality of a novel, but that I also typically find the introduction to a story the most entertaining: The Power System, the World the Author has created, the new characters etc. That sense of discovery and adventure tends to get lost in many novels, since it's hard for an Author to repeatedly create new entertaining settings (imo). And in regards to Cultivation novels, I also prefer the fights when the MC is still a low-level cultivator (first 3-4 realms), and tend to zone out a little when they're doing planet-destroying attacks (or close to) Death Mage still has that feeling of discovery to me; new races popping up around Van, Dungeons are still relevant/used, meeting strange "Evil" Gods, inventing things and new ways to use Demon King Fragments, Van's crazy antics, discovering new ways Rodcorte is an idiot and the list goes on. I really look forward to every new chapter of Death Mage, and can't wait to see what I'll discover next.
Part of the reason I find for Death Mages constantly engaging read is because it keeps the 'boring' stuff in small, bite sized parts that are spread around, instead of the more typical info dumps.
Part of why I think Death mage is staying Fresh is it's sense of scale. The ultimate goal is for the MC to take on the gods. But he has to go from a literal baby to that stage during the course of the story and with both a level and rank system to create a qualtifiable scale to reach their level (I think Rank 13 was said to be god territory) it makes it simple to slowly build up to the battle of the gods. Some series rush into making their MC god tier or they drag the story out too long trying to buy time before that point. Death Mage is dragging things out while still keepings things fresh so the series is long but not longer than it needs to be.... most of the time anyway.
YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That means I don't need to perform blood sacrifices anymore (for now) Those girls will be happy to finally be able to go home.
Looks like I found the one who stole my specimen. I might have to teach you a particularly Eldritchy lesson.
When you would be happy with just getting an Origin or Vandeliu or an Heinz update but you get all 3 of them just when sh*t is about to go down
