    I just read the first few chapters but I forgot what the title was and accidentally cleared my history
    Its a guy, in the first chapters he brings his fiancee around and wastes money, hire lackeys, and then buys a nightclub and his cousin's real estate

    Fun fact, i used to think that "prodigal" meant "genius" because it's similar to "prodígio" in Portuguese.

    I'm a native English speaker and I thought so too till I just googled it now since "prodigal" seems like the adjective form of the word "prodigy," which means "a young person with exceptional qualities or abilities."

    That doesn't work all the time. In this case, it means "wasteful". You'll be more familiar with it if you had a biblical background (The Prodigal Son parable). The word you were thinking of is prodigious, like "prodigious talent".
