Discussion i read yaoi for the plot

iam not a fujjoshi, i don't have a preference for all things gay, i just read all novels for the plot and am not picky about hetero or bl gl as long as the story is ok.

i wont read a poopy novel just becos it gay or straight

only a well thought out plot.

I totally understand. I don't go seeking out Yaoi, but once I was editing a Yaoi story, and I'm here thinking ... other than these 'erotic/romance' scenes, the plot is quite good; and so did not mind. But once I wasn't editing, I still didn't go looking for it.

Don't pick up boyfriends from the trash bin. - I don't think we will see any romance any time soon since they don't know who the other really is (you will understand why after the 1° arc)
Founder of diabolism - became pop, but is really good.
Liu Yao - a cultivation novel. It's quite the ride, I admit that I cried at the end of the 1° book. Have to pick up again when they complete the current book since this is one of those stories that's difficult to put down once starting.......

As a fujoshi, I will have to say I read Yaoi both for the papapa AND PLOT.
If I want to read primarily for the papapa then I will look for one that has that.
If I want one for plot then I will look for Yaoi that has THAT.

Seriously what’s the big goddamn deal.
Some of yall saying that the BL or papapa part ruins the plot.
Let me tell you most of the times the best BLs are the ones with plot, And the papapa parts becomes even better with plot. Why? Because of character development, emotional attachment and the deep relationship between the two character can make a sex scene so much more emotional or passionate.

Of course a part of it is still for the porn, but mixed in with a good plot and well developed relationship?

Waaaay better than the hentai porn, and for a girl like me, Yaoi is almost the only for me to find that kind of pornographic content that I feel is ACTUALLY GOOD.

I also kinda agree with you, I sometimes drop the BL novels that I read because I get usually either bored or confused (･ัω･ั)

Well, I can see how you read yaoi for the plot. After all chinese danmei novels also fall under 'yaoi' genre. They're usually really tamed in terms of 'adult scenes' (there are a few of them or not explicit) and are plot heavy instead like The Earth is Online or The Founder of Diabolism. I also don't think of myself as fujoshi but I read mostly BL these days as I dislike Harem and it's quite hard to find a CN novel without a harem and with a protag that would suit my tastes. Anyway I think I would read almost all the genres if the plot were good enough (I'm still pondering whether to read Warlock of the Magus World despite its polygamy tag).

 

Oh yea, I did once too. I wouldn't read yaoi for the life of me...since I'm not gay. But there was this one thing which had such a great summery that the concept and setting immediately made me wanna read it.

Also, I also once read gender bender hentai for the plot too. I love gender bender stories a lot, but its nothing fetishistic, I just like these types of stories. I read a hentai once which was just an amazing gender bender love story, it's probably one of my most favorite hentais but I've actually never fapped to it. lol
