Discussion Complains about worst ML who are romanticised

There are some authors in the world who make the MLs duch bags they end up dong:

They rape, abuse, (both physically and emotionally), sleep with other people to make the MC jealous and sometimes even cripple the MC. Like wtf?
Not only that sometimes, the ML fall for stupid schemes from other people (By the way they at can be solved by communication) and then they cause a rift (Which both MC and ML is flawed at), where is the so called trust that lovers should have or even friends.

There is this one book where the MC continues to reincarnate where his fiancé fell in love with her sister instead, again and again. Guess what he's still the ML.

Then there was this one book where the ML continues to abuse and r*pe the MC, then due to the constant and abuse she gets a miscarriage and the ML continues to blame her. The most infuriating thing? Is the fact that the MC believes she deserves it.

 

What I find so weird, is when I read the comments for these types of stories and the comments are all positive: “Awwww! How cute~!” and “They’re so in love!!” And I can’t help but think: “(¬_¬) Uh.... are we reading the same story...?”

 

Stop reading that, those are fetish novel and not romance

 

Lmao. Just remember, all these "romance" stories are written by women, for women.

I think he stopped halfway cuz..... well..... that story is pure torture..... it felt like wanting to shoot the damned fiancee or mc's sister and family with a shotgun at point blank at almost every chapter....... i do felt pity towards the fiancee when we shown his pov..... but still wanna shoot him anyway.......

 

I stopped at chapter 32 myself. Couldn’t make myself read beyond that...

 

I basically stop reading as soon as either the ML is sleeping around or there is rape or dubious consent with the MC

Yeah, I don't know what's so good about this kind of romance. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to romance, I like the "power couple" one.

 

Well, I have none, since it was meant to be a bit of a poor attempt at a joke.
But I can tell you that I’m a sucker for emotional abuse, y’know? The things that tug at your heart strings and make you wish you could rip your eyes out?

Physical abuse isn’t really something that I’d like to be afflicted on me since I hate pain, but the thought of slowly breaking someone’s fingers one by one is just... delectable.

 

I can’t tell whether you like reading emotional abuse or want to be abused. If it’s the latter, I cannot recommend it.

 

I don’t know either hah. But I have quite a strong personality (I think? I hope so), so even if I was emotionally abused I probably won’t even bat an eye.
