I skim read those parts When I get fed up with the repetitiveness of it or till I lost my motivation to continue reading it
This is why I read mostly my preferred niche in most novel I read. So even if they repeat the same stuff, it's the stuff I like. I love seeing how the MC interract or seduce the female character
The only times I skim read is when the author just gave up and rushed the ending. The only reason why you don't drop CN novels is because the releases pique your interest. Remove those 1-2 chapters a day and you will realize how bad most of them are(Why did I fucking waste my time binging WDQK, NSHBA, etc.)
Yeah investing time and effort to read only to stop halfway is what keeps me off reading CN novel. It has to pass certain criteria for me to read it and a good review is also needed for me to at least be interested in a novel..
Even novels I actually like there's usually at least a couple of disappointing and/or rage inducing moments, and I'm talking just in general. In the end though I've found myself able to stomach meh novels more than 'slightly good' ones because of the lower expectations, so when it gets a bit shitty I'm not as affected... Like the mindset when reading might be even more important than the actual novel or manga or whatever.
Too many to count. That's why treat them as "Junk Food". Many CN novels arcs I usually skipped to the end after seeing the Antagonists with Cockroach-like ability(Lesser Plot Armor) survive and hope for them to die. While for boring parts....I usually just read them if I have free time, since it mean I already lost interest in the novel.
I'm fairly picky as to what Chinese novels I read so my success rate is pretty good; maybe one dud every five to six books. Good books aren't hard to find; you just have to have a good idea of what you like so you can avoid the ones that won't work for you.
Only parts of the novel, usually involving repetitions/recaps/rehashing. If I ever feel like I hv to skim a novel entirely, I would drop it instantly. And I still read CNs cuz they appeal to me (4 the most part), and the only way to ensure continued enjoyment is to cut down on fillers via skimming.
When mc kill people for no reason but saves people for now reason AKA chu feng When tournaments start once mc show him self Aka against the gods
I legit find the Chinese concept of cultivation in novels really interesting, and have no expectation or hope other than the stories be interesting, so it's pretty depressing that finding one that actually stays interesting is like finding a needle in a haystack. I want to write one eventually, but I'm constantly ruminating on how to best portray this type of novel.
I cant say only about CN novels since most of novels including KR and JP dissapoint me as well, none of them have that much of good work and finding actually good works are hard in all of them
o god almost all xianxia leaves me disappointed everything fengxintianxia writes leaves me devastated because his novels start off so good but end up so bad i have since boycott him
