    Been wondering after rereading the beginning why was the MC unpopular when it seems he is pretty good looking and sporty it even says girls avoid him calling him filthy or something?

    The culprit is Shirone, whenever a girl interested in him, she came to the said girl and said something along "look, he always ogling on your breast and butt"

    The more I learn able her the less redeemable she becomes, she serious was 99% of the problems in the MC’s life before transferring.

    It wasn't Shirone 's fault. Mc always oggled girls but could never maintain a pokerface. Mc thought he was hiding it but no. End of arc 3 is a good example.

    At the end of the story so far that ends at Vol 9. did Kuroki ever do Shirone or was that never explored?

    No, Shirone is still chasing after him; yet not getting any closer. They talk quite a bit in 4th arc, but after that they don't really see each other.

    The original was rewritten into the syosetu version . Then magnet is gonna probably changechange some stuff as well.

    At least the number and names of the chapters changed. Haven't read it in magnet but you can see in the LN's illustrations that it is different.
