Discussion MTL is a "Won't deny not [sic] confirm" these days?

Well, I haven't seen this in a while.

TL;DR: Someone translated using GT, got snappy when confronted. Is MTL now allowed on NU?

A person snapping back at you for pointing out that they've used Google Translate, without even cleaning up the text and posted it onto their site as a translation, when you're offering a piece of the "translation" re-translated and wishing them well and mentioning that you're hoping they would actually translate it next time around.

From what I've read in the 8 chapters I've managed to fit into this weeks schedule, it's a slow-life isekai with a overpowered gun.
Notable plot points in the first 8 chapters:

• MC reincarnates because he was stabbed in his home after he stopped playing a VR FPS.
• Is very calm about "God" and so "God" seems to appreciate his calmness, they chatter for 3 days deciding on how his weapon (Sniper rifle)'s ammo will be spawned in and how he could spawn in special ammo if he spends Bullet Points (BP).
• The MC gets set down in a middle of nowhere with a carriage being attacked by monsters, he saves them and continues with them towards the next town.
• The carriage was the town lord's servant being the coachman and the lord's daughter being driven back to town.
• NOTE: This point differs from the Manga: He gets a lot of money (a full rucksack of gold coins) as a reward for the escorting because the butler noticed that the shadows a way in front of the carriage just suddenly fell over, even though no adventurers were fighting them.
• As the MC required a common knowledge of the area, he asked the lord if he has someone he could recommend to teach him. Gets recommended a slave, told a TL;DR on slavery, and so MC goes to the slave trader since that's the common knowledge of the world.
• NOTE: This point differs from the Manga: The short plump slave trader who is sweating heavily, shows him inside and leads him through the slaves. First group: A group of fallen noble ladies, who are sitting down and throwing flirtatious looks at him (No posing like in the manga). Second group: A muscle-heavy group with men and women on either side (Unlike the manga where it was all men ... Unless I was so focused to scrolling past the muscle-bound men I didn't even notice there were women there...). Third group: Slaves that were injured somehow or unwell, where MC finds the FL (no massively extra different treatment from others), who had her ears lopped off, face burnt, bones broken, etc. etc. ... And MC gets her for 1 gold coin. No special mention of the ritual performer or slave trader feeling that they felt something from MC, that they hope FL's life gets better.
• MC takes her out of town to heal her then returns to the mansion to discuss what he'll be doing onward and gets a suggestion to become an Adventurer.

In case anyone misinterprets, I'm posting to spark a war of words between them. I by no means, am with either side, albeit, I too, prefer quality TL than MTL. That said, OP posted this thread in regards to site's policies on the requirements needed for a TL to be listed in the site. So no worries, blame and hate all you want! I do appreciate translations being done, I do appreciate translations being done well even more.
I do not however appreciate when someone posts bull and defends that bull with the "I took my time for it" line.

 

I think they accept mtl if it's even barely edited.

 

If I remember MTL is allowed to post at NU. But they must write at their work or website as MTL.

I don't mind if it's MTL, there just has to be good editing and consulting a translation dictionary for words that aren't translated well. That, and asking people what they believe a certain phrase means if all other options don't work.

Edited MTL however is allowed. So.... just get them to edit the text at least. Though a lot of readers will just drop shitty MTL'd novels anyway.

 

MTL without editing isn't allowed.

That said, is the "translator" even english speaking? It feels like his reply to you is MTLd as well...

 

Also... this translator is so shit at Japanese he even got the title wrong.

For Japanese, it's easy to tell when someone is MTLing, but what about Chinese novels? The chinese-translation softwares must be so much better.
That's probably why MTLs are accepted.

I dunno, 'cause in like French, google translate is actually pretty accurate, so I figured it would be even more accurate with a language like Chinese

 

I wouldn't be surprised if the British trained Google Translate so that they can notice sooner should someone be trying to use a baguette to start another war.

If I knew Chinese(?) I would probably check up on it... However I don't.
