Recommend a great CDrama

    Currently trying to learn mandarin, I watched The Untamed (Drama adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi).

    I am looking for chinese drama recommendations. It would be good if it was adapted from a well known novel, like MDZS. (Optional).

    I like action, tragedy, supernatural, historical and fantasy elements. But I'm not that picky about the genre. As long as the series is REALLY GOOD, i did not even mind if it was BL. But I do stay away from those with too gory or R18 stuffs because I watch in commute.

    Also, it would be nice for a chinese and english sub available on the same video for me to learn. Or just the english sub.

    I need it to be a really good series for motivation and enjoyment. Thanks.

    Chinese dramas have this clumsy and stiff feeling, makes it particularly hard to like any of them.

    Nirvana in fire is superb though. I still have to watch the second one. Is based off of a novel.

    I love all of them except Eternal love

    Legend of the Condor Heroes (2003)
    It's a wuxia film based on Jinyong's work. Pretty classical, and has a pretty nice vibe to it. I liked this verson more than others.

    Demigod and Semidevil (2003)
    Like above, another drama adapted from Jinyong's work. Really loved this too.

    Both can be watched from youtube too

    Not all CDrama have vood actors that could portraits the character on the story, though the story is very nice, it is just sad that it was not delivered magnificently. So people tend to see it as a bad output.

    Eternal Love or The Eternal Love.
    Both are two different dramas based on different books
    If you think Yang Mi acting is bad then no woman in China can act according to you lol

    As a kid I watched the series with my family. The Legend of the Condor Heroes version of 2008 tv series, The Return of the Condor Heroes (2006 TV series), and The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (2003 TV series). You may try to watch the new version, honestly I didn't watch the new version.
