Skipped through it mostly but sounds like... Something that most of Europe considers basic and USA considers world-shaking/revolutionary(socialistic? *facepalm*).
My father was talking about this guy the other day....I thought it was a scam since my dad is so gullible.
Yeah lmao, america avoids socialism like people do measles. But I don't know much about that so *shrugs*. I just like how realistic this dude is.
Well, I am not into politics but he sounds trustworthy enough or at least more so than alot of candidates
Good way, I guess. He seems straightforward and he gives a lot of details on what he is saying. I dunno but Trump also just threw out bold statements without anything else.
I've heard a little about this guy, but not much. It's hard to hear about other people when the news goes crazy each time trump farts.
But he has a plan and the right backing to make it happen! He knows many corporate people and entrepreneurs and most of them seem on board with most of what he's doing or tryung to do! Yeah. That man is an attention seeker smh.
i'm not from the US but i would like to give my 2 cents. he is right, but i don't think it will work at least in a short time, only if he wins now and wins again later and have his sucessor wins again and keep the pressure up and the USA citizen still vote for him and be happy with the problems that would arise until everything is settled and even with all of this would still be a shot in the dark. first, he is not talking about socialism like some people said, he is talking about taxing those super big enterprises and take it's money and put to work for society , of course one of the ways he said he would do is to give a thousand dollar allowance so it's look like socialism but is not there is a lot more than that. now going on why it think it will not work simple because we live right now in a too money focused Society, just like he said we have enterprises that have revenues of billions and some even trillions of dollars and i myself as capitalism man i do not see something wrong it with at first glance, to be true but once we grown up and start to have a job and to get bigger picture of things i'm all for the owners of those enterprises to have their money and party with it, have fun buy their airplanes, boats and so on but for some groups of super "rich" right now we are reaching a stage where some people have so MUCH money, that they can live the most expensive lifestyle you could think off in the world and still would not make a dent in their "money" and what they do with the rest? they take the rest of it and let it slide, some invest to make more money, other just let it there but overall they are not really "working" in prol of society in a good way, they are working in prol to make them even more money that they will never "use" and this is where his plans comes from, is to TAX those ones, mostly and the most cases of this is the tech's companies so he plans to tax the direct the Enterprises like facebook-google and so on who is on this path of never ending money, so the society can get some of it, he says that this is enough to give this allowance of a thousand dollars each in the US, just to see how much money they are making,do not know if it's true but i take as it is, since is in the video. but as i stated i doubt it would work in a short time, since for some who have a knowledge of economy and story will know that similar plans as the one he stated of taxing those "super" companies was already tried and failed, simple because we live in a too big money centralizing society, so the companies would jump out of countries and move their factories and HQ's to other countries who does not tax them and work their way around as not paying the tax in the US or at least severe bulking the tax money by moving the bulk of their operation elsewhere or even return the tax revenue in their followup products that would impact the final costumer (ourselves) the most(just like apple and most tech companies of today moved their operation from the US or anyplace in the world and put in Taiwan, china, Vietnam). to put it in perspective in today's adult work Society exist a entire class of tax lawyers companies that "works" on this alone, on how to minimize the payout of tax by those big companies, and they study the law and know how to do it, he would need a hell of job of creating-altering-changing laws to change all of this, that is another point on my text>> the companies would lobby the hell out of everything to avoid those law's that taxes them to pass this is why i said is not something that would work in the short years and in the USA where people go to jail, at least some of them,i can see even a glimpse of it happening if they lock up those lobbyist but for the rest of the "mortal" world it would be far more than a "dreamjob" so he would have a hell of fight and even worse maybe even a fucking economy crisis in the US for sometime until the society and those companies yield to his plan and this if he is really successful in passing those laws and this is taking in consideration that they "will" wield to him, because even if the USA is the biggest market of the world right now, what he is planning is not something to take light at if not well handled there is gonna be a lot of companies that would be more than happy to abandon the fabrication in the US and thus severe bulking the tax money the US would receive! just to put in perspective, the current war against china promoted by trump, if trump last long enough to be successful with it would cause the inverse of what would happen if this guy put his plan into motion, trump "bullet" in this war against china by increasing tax is so that enterprises and companies "leaves" china and move out to other countries or even the US itself by making those countries that are not "china" having a better environment and lower production cost, since they would sell their product to the biggest market of the world> USA cheap than if they stayed in china, cheap products= more market power (the word is not exactly power but i do not know the correctly english world for the term i'm trying to write in my language, so i will use power). i can only see this happening in my generation, and probably most of the people reading this msg, if a allien spaceship "ala" independence day "movie" comes knocking our planet and fuck everything up, or a third world war erupts and only "one" centralized block of government is left with the world, because as long we have barriers between countries and even some "enemies" there is always gonna be someone with open arms trying to bring up and suck up the companies or the "money" left by made by some countries actions and gain with it. edit: i just remembered that a some years ago, there was even a lobbyist group studying with the world bank group and some countries to do exactly that , tax those super tech companies and divide the tax between the country they are giving the service and the country where it's manufacture process is, it started in the Europe Union i believe, it have sometime since i read it and is a little fuzzy right now but since i have not been reading anything new in the media about it until you guy's posted this guy with a very similar ideology as them, i can only say that the lobbyist of the big companies should have got their hand on that group before and shut them up.
yea, like that's gonna work. Good like implementing a bill that will make all the companies pay full taxes they owed... and paying people just because is a monumentally stupid idea. You gotta create new markets, not create leeches
The Plan Maybe if all the gears within society abide by these man-made laws. Having the Rich & Wealthy businesses front the bill for a lot of things seems nice. But the Rich & Wealthy businesses will fight tooth & nail that it doesn't happen. edit: @M4rcosR3is good analysis btw
You know, I remembered watching a cartoon once where there are fat humans who just sit in an automated chair/toilet with all the things they can wanted automated and will be getting at arms reach, even the food they eat. I don't remember which one it is, my guess is that cartoon with that trash collector robot. Anyway, I think those days are getting nearer and nearer.
Universal basic income? Heh. He's setting himself up to fail. To Americans, this is no different from Communism. Which was also one reason why Bernie Sanders lost support.
