Do you add the cacao nibs while brewing or directly on the drink? It sounds very interesting, I might try it!
Spices are heavenly add-ons on hot chocolate for me but on coffee, I like to have them on the side on biscuits and cakes since usually I only drink it black.

I heard espresso with robusta makes a ton of crema... is it tasty? I've only had a 100% robusta blend once, it was a small pack brought from Vietnam by a friend and we drank as ca phe sua da using the filter she gave us too. Yummy!

I would like to declare the neutral nature of the Specialty Coffee faction, as we hold no ill feelings towards other caffeinated drinks or any different ways to brew, drink, and appreciate coffee beans. We simply wish for w̶o̶r̶l̶d̶ ̶d̶o̶m̶i̶n̶a̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ peaceful coexistence and sharing wonderful drink appreciation moments~

I have several teas in my possession, including a cold brew mix of muscat and green rooibos in my fridge at this moment.

I'm quite fond of their Lightnote roast personal drip packs... The nitro ice coffee they serve at some Reserve stores in Tokyo is delicious too!

My parents love instant granulated coffee for its practicality and I grew up with that but now I enjoy buying beans, grinding them and tasting as a hobby so the instant packs I keep at home are mostly for baking cakes or bread!

I just grind the nibs with the coffee grinder and toss it directly into the coffee pot. It mixes better (Avoid clumping) if you throw it in the pot while it is still empty, and allow the coffee to drip onto it, rather than stirring it in after the fact.
It's got a real flavor kick to it, depending on how much you add, so use it when you really want it to perk you up. Kind of like drinking a green coffee bean coffee... kinda

Very sour and very acidic, but it mix better with sugar (and brown sugar if you want different accent) and grappa. Quite strong too as tonic since I stayed awake till morning when I took it during dinner :blobdizzy:.

Humm...Robusta has almost double the caffeine amount compared to Arabica beans, right?

I usually have 100% Arabica since single-origin high-quality beans are quite affordable around here. I do wonder if an espresso with a robusta mix would be good for a boost in the morning but having to clean up the grinder and espresso machine right after is also a pain so, for now, I'm just sticking to the origami drip packs for weekdays...

Yes robusta produce more acid and the taste is quite similar between it's kind, regardless of the bean type. Most use arabica as dominant in blend to show the disticnt taste of said arabica.
I am just stick with espresso or longblack if I don't have enough time, especially in the morning.

What kind of espresso machine you have? We got a DeLonghi as a wedding gift and it's ok but it's been a while and I was trying to figure out if there was an affordable upgrade out there

I got secondhand Jura from my friend. It's decent but pricy for brand new one.

Oooooooh niiice! You have an automatic one!?! I think it’s the same brand as the one we had at the office I used to work.

I was looking for one with a portafilter to practice tamping...

Drinking coffee with any addiction like cream or milk is an abomination in itself

The only addiction that is tolerated is sugar

    Black coffee FTW !

*wipes off milky mustache from a cappuccino*

    Heeeeeeey...you’re looking for a fight?

    *tips off cowboy hat*

[Actually, I usually don’t add sugar or milk unless it’s necessary for the recipe itself, so let’s just be caffeinated fellows~~~]

    Hello, Jiichan!
It seems like a medium roast single-origin brewed on a siphon would suit your taste!
Today we have some beans from Minas Gerais state, in Brazil.
They have chocolate-hazelnut and maraschino cherry notes.
It should have a very soft and fruity finish! Here, have a cup! ⅽ[ː̠̈ː̠̈ː̠̈] ͌
