It was big, but it didn't have any abilities his slimes couldn't copy, if they felt like it. It would also be annoying to have to try moving something of that size.

Some things were rearranged, there's more emotional baggage in the Reincarnation meeting, seems like some of the skill info was dropped, and now they have a better explanation for the fascination with slimes. Basically, it's showing some of his survival experience, instead of time skipping immediately.
