This poll is a hypothetical scenario that quantitatively assesses your faith in humanity. Here is the situation: A magical mascot cat appears in front of you one day and offers a gamble. To play the game, you need to a wager a certain amount of your money. You can wager as little as a penny or as much as you like; even money that you do not have. Once you have made this wager, the magical cat will visit one other random person in the world. The magical cat will ask the random person: "A person has made a gamble with $XXXXX dollars, and it is up to you to decide if that person wins double the money or loses everything. So what do you think? Let them win or lose?" If the random person says yes, you win! Fate will align and somehow you will legally gain all the money you won through the wager within one year. If the random person says no, you lose! Fate will align and somehow you will lose everything that you wagered. If you wagered more than your entire net worth, you will end up in debt. How much would you wager? Note: if you not employed, assume that you have a minimum wage job for the purposes of the poll.
I'd ask the cat to tell me *who said yes and I would give em some money *If I could ask the cat if he can tell the person
It's not that I don't have faith in humanity or confidence in my own luck, it's just that I don't trust cats, magical or otherwise.
*cough* As a magical imaginary creature myself, I say that cat is horrible and up to no good, do not listen to such cat and I repeat do not listen to it, you have been warned
I trust humanity only to be a giant troll. Let's be honest - if a magic cat came and said that to me, I'd say "no" just for the giggles, without thinking the consequences through.
If I were asked to double or nothing someone's cash by that cat, I'd say yesh cause I have no reason to say no. Now if I were to put some cash on the line...? Yeah no thanks, I'd rather play it safe.
Nope. Gambling is ...bad, its not about faith with humanity.. Rather its faith on the cat whether the cat choose kind person to ask or an as*hole, the result would be contrast. My luck with gambling pretty suck, i just roll 170 times today and only get 1 SSR, which not even one i wanted. And you said now with cash, no thanks.
Interesting proposition... In all honesty I wouldn't wager more than 10% of my salary which is... *Looks at poll* 3x my daily income I guess? I think I have plenty of faith in humanity, but this kind of scenario feels like... It can go wrong from something as simple as someone having a bad day, it's not really something I'd be willing to take a risk for. I believe people will do the right thing when faced with a real situation, but in this kind of scenario that the person might not even trust the cat and believe it's some sort of hallucination...? Feels kinda scary to put money to wager on that. I think I agree with the feeling that it's more related to how much you're willing to gamble over how much you have faith in humanity...
Pretty much this without the magical kitty prejudice. If something or someone came up to me from out of nowhere with deals and such, I'd definitely be wary of them first and foremost. But I think that already answers how much faith I have in humanity? The ones who pro-actively approach strangers anyway.
Oh, this is an EASY question to answer. Who cares about the money or faith in humanity, I WANT THE MAGICAL KITTY! So my choice is to delay the answer indefinitely so I can pet and feed a magical kitty all day!
I'll wager 4x the hourly wage, which is about 2 days worth of food in a really cheap place,it is a loss that I can take and if I win I get to splurge a bit,in short I'm gonna take it like any other gamble
magical cat? *looks at @Kalto * err.. nope.. wouldnt wager anything?! ">.>" +the number of gud people on earth is very much lesser than combination of bad people and those who just randomly pick a choice!!! *cough* i myself might honestly say lose depending on my mood when that cat appears.. >\\\>
If the magical mascot cat is Kyubey, Ai-chan will punch him in the face first before considering any deals with him. Then Ai-chan will wager his soul for the gamble. Like why not? The rules say Ai-chan can wager with money Ai-chan doesn't have, right?
Enough that I wouldn't deeply regret not betting more if it works, not enough that I'd suffer the debt very long if it fails. 3x month's salary. Ai chan is brilliant.
I would wager nothing. It's not because I have no faith in humanity. It's because I have no faith in myself. Earning more money through magically legal methods would mean I accepted money from someone else's kindness, and I would never be able to repay them back.
