Warlock of the Magus World, is not really insane but will do quite a lot of stuff for power...... i really like the ending of twilight zone arc

Not much smarter but just evil.

Because in the last volume Hoshino goes pretty insane. I mean, he's literally reliving the same day killing as many people as he can (starting off with friends and eventually family), in a constant loop of kill (gruesomely)-> kill himself-> 'revive'->, where if they're killed, they stay dead. All this just so he could see Maria again. But if you want the character to be insane the whole series this isn't for you.

It's pretty good if you want a bit darker series to read.

Very true. It's really hard to have a bad reputation, people just blame you when you were just trying to stop the fire that the mercenaries made from spreading. Fires are unpredictable tho, so you never if a wild fire just randomly starts somewhere or a lunatic decides to take a city down with him.
