if you like, you can call it bias

but truly, it's the english that does not match the anime art style. i did not say anything about the country it was set in. if the art was more cartoonish...

That's very odd to say but to each his own.
Sadly, biases stop us from experiencing new and wonderful things.
I am guilty of this too.
    Over and out.
    Peace!

What did I just watch! I can't believe I watched that anime in sub and missed out on the beauty of the dub. Most dub is not as good as sub (in my lowly opinion) but this beats good ones and all! Cowboy Bepop? whats that? FMA? Is it tasty? Death Note? What country is that in?

If you liked that, maybe you will like the abridged versions of some animes on if you didn't watch them, say for example:
    SAO Abridged
    hellsing ultimate abridged

ah, ghost stories. i liked the 'jackass' running gag. either way the whole thing is stupid fun haha!

English anime dubs are crap. Either that, or somewhat tolerable.

idk why, because when it comes to western cartoons, movies or games, the voices are great and well-acted. you've got kevin conroy and tara strong -- big name inserts, but the only examples i can think of atm -- but anime in english dub is so low tier. maybe you have one voice or two that's ok -- johnny young bosch and crispin freeman, i like and are pretty awesome imho -- but the rest, along with meh audio mixing lead to what ranges from an underwhelming experience, bad voice acting cringe, or vomit worthy ear rape. i agree with the companies being lazy to actually train good talent for anime dubbing, or assert some form of quality control.

btw, project mouthwash's ubw abridged has pretty good voice acting and amazing ass script. only four eps now, sad.
and sao abridged is a must watch. i just expected cheap laughs but holy shit i was wrong.

Nah. You are limited by your bias.
Dubs being bad is not universal.
The same with subs being good not being universal either.
You just don't know enough about the language to notice when it's crap.
Also, when it's your fetish. It is automatically good.
Many have pointed out things like Cowboy Bebop, Radiant and Full Metal Alchemists as good examples.
Stories set in Europe which automatically makes dubs superior over subs.
And that's an actual fact instead of opinion.
    You have just been BURNED!!

Technically, all anime including the Japanese is dubbed and thus saying something like "All dubs suck!" would include the Japanese version!

I find that anime where the setting is western-esque tend to be better with dubs. That way, you sometimes get distinguishing accents or vibes (even if they're corny and cliche) as opposed to the orig jp audio where there's no real notable difference.

Also, you're more likely to see VAs getting to go full ham in comedy dubs, like the konosuba dub compilation in @Chrono Vlad 's post, whereas full ham isnt common in jp audio.

Only fools say dubs suck. Sometimes the dubs can be better than the Japanese. Although rare.

The mafia anime "91 Days" takes place in a fictional Illinois town and primarily in 1928. The Eng. dub used Italian accents. Austin Tindle (Ayumu in Is This a Zombie?, Accelerator in the ToAru franchise, Goro in Franxx, Karma in Assassination Classroom, Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul, and Crowley in Seraph of the End, among many others) did an astounding job as our lead guy, Avilio! It's my favorite role of his!

Seriously, check out 91 Days! You can watch both versions on Crunchyroll! However, I would go with the Eng. version! Since the show is set in Illinois and it has Italian or Italian-American characters, this is 1 those anime series that Hollywood could do some justice with via live action! Also, we have a sizable Italian or Italian-American pop. in Hollywood!

Here is some of Darkness' best moments from KonoSuba's first season. I think Crunchyroll is paying for the second season to get an Eng. dub but not sure when they will stream it:

Cristina Vee, who is really talented and very gorgeous, was really getting into it as Darkness!

I like the Unico dub better than the sub, especially the voice of Kuruku.

I also really like the Kingdom Hearts dub! (>^ω^<)
